Talking about Barca, to paraphrase... I scored in the first half but didn't follow Guardiola's plan. Went in at half time happy and was substituted for not following the plan. Compare that to Johnson on Saturday, players don't follow his plan but he just accepts it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
said in the next manager post. They need to get tough with the players. Doesn't matter how good you are, you start taking the piss and arguing the with bench you shouldn't be on any more and out of the team/squad the next game. TEAM > Individual
With you HT, not like any of them bar Hourihane and Hammill are playing well at all. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Do you know what I think? I think the players WERE following his plan and it is a ******** excuse he is using after the game to deflect the blame from himself. This is the same Johnson who said recently when people were on his back that we don't play the blame game here. Well unless you're the manager and you're blaming everyone else.
They weren't. Hammill in the first half was constantly going over and relaying messages on. Second half he made all the players go across and from the bit I could see he wasn't very happy.
To paraphrase Edmund Blackadder - "unfortunately there's one tiny flaw in Johnson's plan"........"It's b@ll@cks" Sent from my GT-I9195 using Tapatalk
Correct. If players were played based on current form we'd not have enough players to fill a three a side team.
Didn't go so can't comment on tactics etc, just thought it was interesting relating to Johnson's comments. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
You know what I think? The players have eventually clicked on that LJ doesnt have a clue what he is doing and have decided theyre no longer listening to his 'plan' because its worked ****ing wonders so far hasnt it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I don't know about following the plan but I'm struggling to remember a Barnsley side with as many players rowing with each other as last Saturday. Didn't look a happy camp to me. Watkins, Hourihane, Winnall & Hammill were all at it with each other.
It's an ok theory. Luckily for Barcelona they have a plethora of alternatives so can afford to do this. If Hammill cuts inside leaves his wing and scores after dribbling round half the opposition we are never going to sub him if Conor shoots instead of passing sideways and scores again he will be staying on the pitch. Any manager that regularly selects way out of form players like Watkins and Nyatanga deserves all they get.
Was the plan not to have any meaningful shots at goal and definitely none on target? If so it was executed to perfection.
