If you'd care to watch a few academy games you would see what they're all about and also have a valid opinion. For years now it's all about getting to ball down and play good football. It's also about bring lads up from the younger age groups and testing them. This year they've had a bad run of injuries, anything like 6 or 7 key player out at one time. They've also had some really good results as well. I've only managed to watch 6 games this year so far and they always put a good show on. I'm not saying Burton is the answer but he'd get us to the end of the season still in this division. For me you know nothing about the academy and even less about Burton.

I honestly dont think anyone could do any worse

And I mean literally, anyone. Its as bad an appointment as we've ever made, call it an experiment that hasnt worked but to be sticking with him for this long, with not even one crumb of evidence that he's any good, well sheer incredulity, but its not my money and it wont be my money whilst he's there. My next game will be the one where Lee Johnson and/or Patrick Cryne have left the club.

Do you think in the long term that the club will turn things around under the current ownership ? Irrespective of Head Coach ?

Put a 1,000 names into a hat, pull one out at a random. Job's a good 'un.

    Yes, absolutely

we are only one good appointment away from climbing up the league if thats what you call turning things around. Supporters expectations are now so low, a flirt with the playoffs would be seen as a good season. Do I think we have the investment available for survival in the Championship ? Absolutely not. Even if the experiment had worked and we'd picked 6 or 7 gems from lower leagues and Prem academies and sold them on for money, we'd still not survive in the Championship cos a selling club eventually gets found out. We are well and truly League 1 material now, and unless someone comes in with deep pockets and a willingness to lose a fortune, we need to accept our position.

If Patrick fired Johnson he'd put 1,000 bums on seats and if the new appointment had a decent start, they'd put another 1-2,000 on top of that. What happens next then is what you're intimating at, a perpetual cycle, but a good manager will show his abilities in the toughest of conditions. Just get a fckng good manager.

Well to me it looks like we don't employ 'managers' anymore in the traditional sense of the word which causes me a problem when I consider the long term - .that means to me that you won't get an experienced bloke wanting the job.

In addition I think a 'good' manager/head coach would struggle at Oakwell as things appear to stand.

This is all without acknowledging as has been intimated by the Athersley meeting that the club recognises where the problems lie/have lied in the past and are trying to rectify it. Get that right and then in my opinion we can truly judge the record of the bloke turning the side out every Saturday.
