33 goals in the conference last season and has already got 8 this season. Big physical striker and a great goal poacher.

    Worth a punt?

I think the point being, he has got one more goal than Winnall, despite playing two leagues lower and it seems that people are saying Winnall is having a poor season !
So if Winnall is having a poor season, Akinde is hardly having a great one with the goals. Also he is 2 years older than Winnall .
Or I could be wrong !!

Which means at this rate he will end the season with 16 goals which is a good return.

His team is mid-table league 2 so not even a whole division below us. Akinde pretty much single handedly earned Barnet promotion with 20 more goals than Winnall got last season. His physical presence which we desperately need often helps the other players score too.

Most of Winnall's goals came towards the start of the season. He has been dreadful the past month or two. A shadow of what we had last season.

I'm all for new recruits when the window opens but not with Johnson selecting them!

Fresh faces, fresh ideas, fresh impetus needed not going up the same old cul de sacs week in weekout

My point being if we were going to pluck a striker from a lower league I'd be looking for someone in the region of 15 from those 22, in order for him to stand out and say 'sign me'... 8 from 22 is ok, no trees are being pulled up though.

That's 16/17 goals over a season. Who was the last striker to do that for us?

How many did Winnall get last year and he missed 2/3 months through injury ?

Winnall could very easily be that player. Not convinced by his performances over the last couple of months though sadly.

Getting rid of a manager! Isn't that also the same cul de sac ? Half season in half season out.

Been tracked by QPR, Leeds and Wolves. 23 league goals last season following on from the 30 he scored in the 14/15 season.

We should definitely try and sign this guy. Just what we need.

Do penalties not count? Do we really have a reliable penalty taker?

    Yes they do count.

But he was publicly criticised for not scoring enough goals in open play.

Well he did score like 17 goals from open play. Plus he's very strong, tall and quick like Ashley Fletcher so would be a great replacement for him.
