Very good display from the lads today, every one of them played well. Special mention, though, to Isgrove & Watkins who both produced their best performance in a Barnsley shirt, in my opinion. All four goals were excellent, in their creation and the execution. I don't care that Blackpool were poor. I've seen other teams just as poor this season and we've gone on to lose to them. What a woeful referee, though. As a footnote, at the end of the game, Hammill made his way into the Ponty End to shake hands and hug one particular bloke. I wonder whether it was the friend of Conan's he'd had the argument with after the Wigan match.
Yeah Blackpool were poor but the goal is the same size and in other games against poor sides we've failed to out the ball in it so to do it 4 times today counts just as much
If folk can't enjoy today's game & victory, especially after witnessing some of our performances this season, then I'm almost speechless. Almost.
The finish was, however we made a big mess of the free kick and when our 3 players had chance to redeem us with the tackles at the edge of the area, we still let their player free with the ball.
Thought the ref actually had a good game, got most decisions right and got his book out at the right times.
