Cant be doing that Jim you have to say one way or tother if you rate him or not thems the rules apparently. Everyone seems to be fair game at the club at the mo, grousing aplenty.
Aidan White's not a bad player. The problem is that he's simply not fit. After less than an hour he was towing, struggling to get up with his winger and being beaten far too easily. It is ridiculous that we've brought in a player on loan who plays in an area where you don't want to make changes yet can't get through 90 minutes. Both games he's come off because he was out on his feet. Therefore we lose a potentially game changing substitution. I think most agree George could have done with a but of support/competition, but bringing in a lad who clearly isn't match fit, taking up another valuable loan spot, is a joke. I can only think Johnson assumed White was up to the task, and has got it wrong.
Phew, I'd forgotten what my first impressions were. Turns out I stuck up for him. Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
Brilliant bump. Knew this thread was here somewhere. I love how our BBS numpties judge so fast, makes them look even more stupid a few weeks later. Aidy has been brilliant recently, much more heart than most of our permanent players over the last few years.
Ahhhh, the old BBS classic 'bump'. BTT. It seems I didn't participate in this thread originally, but I did say in Not a podcast after the Sheff Utd game that White played *****, and was doing my name a disservice. I stand by that. Say what you see. I thought he was terrific against Wigan and Blackpool though and said as much. I always refer back to the time I said Vaz Te was wnak after the Pompey game, on here. That he should be released on the spot for impersonating a footballer. I think I've self-bumped that a few times. To remind myself that I too make mistakes. Rare though. Obviously.
Just goes to show that one should not draw conclusions after one game. Which is an obvious statement to have to make. This bumping thing might make some think before they post tosh.
What I will say about White is he's always got a mistake in him. In the Wigan game that he won man of the match in he lost his man for the first goal and then today he lost Steve Morrison for that header that he somehow didn't manage to score with. I love the lads effort though. Rare to see a loan player with such commitment & he's quality going forward
I don't think there is a player in the division that doesn't have a mistake in him. I think White needed game time to get fully fit and show what he can do. He's the type of player we have been crying out for a defender who can work the flank line to line. Smith does ok at the defending side but lacks the confidence and natural ability in the final third. Hamill for all his good with the ball attacking doesn't help too much in our own third so this role is pivotal. Let's wait and see if he can be consistent. Of course everyone can have a poor game and we have seen poor runs from almost every player at some point.
The thing is, people are too keen to make it personal, there's a world of difference between "xxxxxx is *****" and "xxxxxx played *****".
The best bit about this particular thread is that there isn't a single comment about White's performance at Wigan in the cup, the week before this one where he was allegedly very good. Yet he was written off after a poor 60 minutes in a South Yorkshire derby where we got our first home point in 2 months. Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
