Well he certainly has to take the blame for Altrincham's goal, Port Vale's 2nd, Colchester's 1st and a bunch of other goals. He has been here for nearly a year and hasn't shown us much of his capabilities. He's nowhere near consistent enough to play at a higher level.

Silly question but if Bournemouth a Premiership side want him why on earth would he come to us rather than them.

if he has a real opportunity to go there good luck to him and I hope he makes a go of it

never faulted his commitment when playing for us and he doesn't owe us anything

The absolute bonkers-o-meter is going haywire here. So Pearson and Crowley are rubbish yet on another thread Kayode Odejayi is getting praised as a good player?! I'm must have dropped into a parallel universe or something.

Depends how it was sold to you. PPI isn't such a bad thing, but anyone who ever bought it can put in a compensation claim. I'm starting to think we should be able to do the same if we take what we're told by BFC at face value.

I'm not overly bothered about Pearson going. If he was a free agent I'd want him but I just don't think he's worth paying any sort of transfer fee for.

There's plenty of free agents knocking about every June who could've done a job of a similar nature.

And he's hardly set the world alight. Been our 3rd best central midfielder during his time with us & as a team we've been ****.

My understanding is that we'd agreed a fee with Man Utd but Pearson was reluctant to sign for us based on our league position and other factors.

    Can't fault him really.

Sometimes you don't know what you've got 'til its gone. I can't understand tho' why Pearson would choose 'Not to play football' cos that's what's going to happen if he moves to Bournemouth, a bit like Holgate .

Its a shame we can't employ the same tactic with managerial recruitments!

It's so obvious Pearson is a good player and has the possibility of being a very good player. I don't need Lee Johnson to tell me that in his interviews. I would have thought he would be a good Championship player myself, but if he can aim higher, then why not.

If he felt unloved by the fans here, I can well understand it and also his decision to move on. When you see the comments made by some of the unsupportive cocksure dumbos on this forum, anyone with an ounce of sense would think why tf do I bother trying to please these halfwits and leave at the earliest opportunity.

If Ben Pearson has chosen not to sign for us because he believes he is capable of playing at a bigger/better club at a higher level then good luck to him. He doesn't owe us a thing and he should take the opportunity that he believes is the best for his career. He'll undoubtedly be paid more too if he signs for a club further up the league pyramid, which is another valid reason for not choosing us.

But if he's chosen to go elsewhere because not every single Barnsley fan was fawning all over him for the entire period he was here then the poor little lamb isn't going to have a career anywhere, never mind on a football pitch, as he simply hasn't got the stomach for it. He should maybe retire now and take up pressing flowers to save himself from the coming heartache. Not that I believe he's like that in the slightest. He hasn't chosen us because he reckons he's worth a better gig than a League 1 relegation battle, which is fair enough, not because he's a ******* nancy boy.

Talking ****** again? Can we stop with the personal insults please. The club were in talks with regards making his move permanent. When we met with Patrick and Ben the feeling was is heart was with BFC but his head wasn't quite there yet. There are never usually any gaurantees even when a fee has been agreed. If a better offer comes along (which I sounds like it has).

Sorry didn't mean it has a personal insult to Mr Cryne but the Pearson situation just shows the folly of the policy of multiple loans with a try before you buy element for a club at our level, because the chances are there will be one of two outcomes either the player flops eg Smith Wilkinson Rothwell and we send them back or they do well like Pearson and clubs higher up the pyramid jump in and gazump us. The major problem is now we are faced with the prospect of a major rebuild half way through an already difficult season. Fans were warning in the summer that the plan was flawed if they could see it why couldn't the people owning / running the club

    Well said Stairfoot!!!

The plan has been flawed for a while now, the club even told us it was changing its policy, but it remains the same.

We have a major rebuild every 6 months.

It seems to be the way forward but the only problem is were at the wrong end of the table.

    Now why is that ?

He probably has been at fault for a few, so have many others, he's a young lad. Bournemouth aren't paying for consistency as I said he's only young. They're paying for potential and what he can bring. Consistency comes with experience and game management if you have been coached well and at Man Utd i'm going to stick my neck out and say he will have been, especially under Sir Alex and his team.

We may see how good he was and how we'll miss him on Saturday when Abbott or whoever take over.
