.............and this is a team that's near the top of the Championship trying to get into the Premiership.

How many more players like these, O'Grady, Vaz Te etc etc etc have slipped through the net - either we have had them on a permanent deal or they have been at Barnsley on loan and could have signed them with a bit of buying power.

Now Ben Pearson has gone back - how big a hole is that guy going to leave in the centre of midfield and how much upheaval in the team is it going to cause to try and fill that hole ???

And that's after we were told that Pearson was to be brought in on a permanent deal.

As things are going now, and have been going since Patrick Cryne took over the ownership of the club 10 years ago, we are gearing up to play 4th division football.

Because that's the only level of football that Patrick Cryne can afford.

I hope I'm wrong..........but the club is steadily drifting back towards the dark dark days before Alan Clarke walked through the door

You're really putting O'Grady in the same category as Vaz Te? Wow.

We've had a lot of good players young nudger recently.

    The midfield of

    Vazte Butterfield O'Brien
    Drinkwater Perkins

Was a very good quintuple. They fitted like a glove. Every single one of the was important to the team. Vaz Te wasn't more important to the team than Perkins or O'brien. That midfield with the defence Robins put together

    Dickinson Shackell Foster Shotton

And the goalkeeper Davey brought in, Muller would have been good enough for top 6 in the championship imo. But things don't work out like that. Hammill's not been mentioned above by myself but he was so good and then there was Anderson and Colace.

What's the solution then Nudger? You seem desperate to seem to want Patrick to leave and I think you are about to get your wish. How will that make us suddenly able to afford 1m + to compete with a premier league team to buy a prospect or to compete with the sort of wages Vaz Te left for?

I'm afraid I agree with Nudger.

The club is drifting back to the dark days and someone has to be held accountable.

If there is a problem you have to make efforts to rectify it not carry on regardless making the same mistakes over and over again

Grow up, nearly every club in England can moan about players they've lost. It happens.

They keep making the same mistakes is an easy generalisation to make. All football clubs make the same mistake don't they? They all (99%?) appoint a manager who they end up sacking in the fairly short term, usually, because results are poor.

As for needing someone to be accountable? What other clubs have that? How do you plan to hold those in charge to be accountable? What is the model for this?

I suspect you're more likely to see the bad old days again if Patrick does leave. We'll see those days where whoever is running the club is scratting round trying to make ends meet with the threat of administration looming. But hey, you may have the illusion of having someone accountable.

Cryne this cryne that. There's a lot of cryning from folk recently.

Yet you've missed something glaringly obvious. Shackells a bellend.

We're Barnsley FC and I'm afraid we can't hold on to talent like that. Not many clubs can. It's all about getting proper coin when they do leave. If we improved at doing so, we'd be much better off. And I think we can all agree that Patrick did a great job with the Stones deal. He won't leave Everton for less than £50m. So 15% of at least £47.8m.

I dont want Mr Cryne out. I hope he realises that 99% of us feel like that and stops being a wally listening to a handful of 'fans', who'll aim their ******** at the next wally to steer the ship.

Stick up for Mr Cryne all you want Gally !

That is part of the problem.

Our League position and the way the club are going down the pan are laid bare for all to see and have been for the last few years.

So yes forgive me but someone is accountable.

Stop making excuses and welcome to the real world.

Time for a change, for better or for worse

Don't see I've made any excuses. I've asked you about your sweeping generalisations and you've just repeated the same point again without answering a single question I asked you.

Same point repeated again. No detail. No specifics. No alternative suggestions. No debate. Just repeating the same limited point. Tedius as ****.
