And joined the labour party? That's the idea isn't it? To set out a manifesto and hope people think its best for them and vote for the party at the election? If people feel strongly enough to join the party and get involved is all the better.
They'd easily keep power then if everything is so fantastic over there, why are they so scared of democracy? Good luck having your opinions on Corbyn vented to your rulers over there. Maybe that's why you're so interested in our politics, because you can't have a say in your own.
If anyone looked a fool it was Cameron. Corbyn was asking legitimate questions about the flooding and flood defences, yet Cameron deflected and started making cheap childish jokes – Cameron should be bloody ashamed of himself, perhaps he’d like to visit the flood hit areas again and start cracking jokes.
Really? All I see is a man actually ASKING direct questions to Camoron who, with the very rare exception, avoids answering them over & over again. Flooding being this week's shameful issue. While folk are trying to get their homes and lives back together, all those Tory cnuts can do is sit there braying and laughing at Corbyn. Classy.
That's what a lot of us saw. No doubt it's exactly what Corbyn expected too. He just plays it straight laced, asks questions directly from the public and allows Cameron to ignore the issue, makes some jokes and believe he's big and clever. In reality, all he's done is alienate every home owner who has experienced flooding and a fair number who knew or had sympathy with the flood victims. Very few if any Tory voters left from that demographic any more. What are they going to remember when it comes to ticking the box in the next election, the fact that Labour had a cabinet reshuffle or that when the contents of heir home were washed away and they were at their lowest ebb, the Prime Minister was ignoring their plight and making jokes? Then the next issue comes along, Corbyn asks the question, Cameron makes his jokes and another section of the population is alienated. There's more than one way to skin a cat. Particularly when you've got five years until the next election. Give him enough rope...
Yup. Although it does rely on the media reporting it and in context. Plenty have highlighted the joke but not that it was during questions about flood victims. He's been here in York promising lots of money for flood defences. Well I say lots of money, its actually a small fraction of only one years flood defence funding that his government has cut. Or that the local authority who are leading the response will have to do so having had another £35m of cuts by the end of this parliament. But the Duchess of Kent was here yesterday and Prince Andrew today so alls well.
The most interesting thing about Corbyn's leadership so far has been the proof of how much a sustained media smear campaign can completely subjugate the majority of people. I can't even listen to radio 4 when discussing politics anymore because its simply so opaque. I understand that historically this is a conservative country but I don't see whats so wrong with having a labour party that actually represents some left wing values rather than being the conservative's B team. The whole thing is a joke.
Agree, but I'd say the mainstream media & TV - outside of The Mail/Sun - likes its politicians liberally slightly but not too much left of centre, allowances made for the Tories bashing the poor who the media detest - with an occasional Denis Skinner or Ken Clarke to mix it up now and again. The minute a politician deviates from this - a'la Corbyn or what I'd call a traditional right wing politician (anti immigration, traditional values blah blah) then they are subjected to exceptional scrutiny that Blair, Cameron, Osborne, Ed Balls etc aren't - certainly not as prolonged as the campaign against Corbyn - the rest are subjected to a little prod now and again (Cameron's pig ****) just to remind them who's boss. I was no fan of Gordon Brown but it was obvious he'd upset Murdcoh et al and didn't fit their ideals with the character assassination he had to endure.
You can give him 10 mile of rope. Come the next election if Corbyn is still leader the Labour Party haven't a cat in hells chance.
It would be almost impossible to hang yourself with 10 miles of rope, I mean, even if you hung yourself off a flying jumbo jet you'd still have 2.5 miles excess.
Erm how is he planning on achieving this utopian society??? Oh yeah that's right he's not, Renationalising the railways? really? who will build these new affordable homes? I'll believe non of it until he produces his magic gold pig. What a load of crap.
Just to throw my 2 pence worth into the ring......ask yourselves this ....why do the tory press bash him and mock every thing he does , why do they belittle him and attempt to sway the publics thoughts against the bloke.if they feel he isnt a threat and the labour party is a spent force..........i will just say in my opinion they are running scared and for once we have a politician , who is not a weather vain ( changes course depending which way the political tide blows)but actually lives and stands firm by his principles of being a labour man....and from what ive seen so far he cant be bought....i know where my trust lays....he does right getting shut of those MPs who vote with the government...how they can call themselves labour when they agree to cuts that we all feel , whilst the bankers who caused the bloody mess and are still getting away with murder walk away scot free.... For once we have a man who tells it like it is and speaks up for those of us who believe in fairness and equality for all ....if more were like him instead of being mini thatcherites ....me first me last....wed all live in a better society ..... Ok 10 pence worth...
I also have found it really interesting that most of the people that are the most negative about tarn's results/ performances/ happy clappers are the ones that are also against Corbyn and vice versa. Not sure there's much in it, just quite interesting.
Of course its better, low interest rates thus enabling people to get on the property ladder coupled with the home buyers ISA are a success. Why would you want to re-nationalise the trains? Were they brilliant, clean, cheap when they were ran by the transport secretary?
