Still no win over Fleetwood. Still no clean sheet since 28 September. We could have let in a hat full yesterday if Fleetwood had any decent strikers. It is difficult to imagine the Reds building a team which can challenge for promotion with loanees and players on short term contracts. Why sign White only until the end on the season? We should have tied him up until the end of next season at least. We are beginning to act like a National League club!
White will have accepted reduced terms and probably only prepared to do so for a short time, looking to get a better offer in the summer. Same with Hammill. Offer them competitive wages and they'll sign for longer, offer them peanuts and they'll only do it short term...
You make valid points sir. Personally i'm just glad we have white at all. Re negotiate at the end of season on a longer deal Hopefully
Could be were hardly in a good league position to attract experienced players on long contracts. Least if we sign em till eos if we still in league 1 we start again on zero points and can maybe talk em round I hope
To see how many ST's we sell... going on some of the comments on here in the last few months, expect a fare drop. So unless PC digs deep again, I wunt expect too many long term signings The master plan is for LJ to work wonders with short term contracts and prem/champ loans... but with this here today gone t'morra attitude, the fans cant/won't form any bond with the team.
This seems to be a common thing after every draw/ win "if they were any good they'd have put 10 past us" simple fact is they aren't going to be that good due to the league we find ourselves in, so speculation on if they were better is absurd.
Whilst ignoring the two half chances Williams had. The one Hourihane fluffed and the one Isgrove had. Plus the one Wabara should have had, following a shocking first touch... More likely White wants to wait until the end of the season and see if he can get a better move. He'll probably have taken a wage cut to play.
The still no wins vs Fleetwood is pretty depressing but we fluffed at least as many chances as them. If Ryan Williams had a shot stronger than a 4 year old girl he'd have had a hat trick.
Maybe we won't offer a longer contract ourselves to see where we are as their wage would be too high for us to afford in League 2.
