Yesterday I watched a load of highlights on youtube and Davies was to blame for quite a lot of the goals scored against us, he doesn't fill me with confidence, in fact I think he's **** and Fleetwoods goal summed him up perfectly.

How can he have any confidence in his back four? Guys like White and Long are suppose to be experienced higher league players with lots of games between them, but you wouldn't always know it watching them. Their experience should be bringing on the younger players and it isn't yet. Yes he could have done better for the goal. However he saved a one on one brilliantly when the same mistakes were made by those in front of him that were made in the first half when they put another one on one wide.

Sooner have Davies in that Townsend any day!

I think Davies is developing into a good young keeper.

Yes he makes errors but there are a few games we would have lost without his saves

    Kevin Long isn't experienced.

He's played about 10 more league games than Danny Rose.

He's League One level as well.

White isn't experience either but hes a very good player at this level and he's made a good impact on the team overall.

I wonder if the team's confidence is so low because of LJ or whether it's because of the fans that keep getting on their back.

A mixture of both i would say.

The Oakwell crowd can be rather harsh at times but its always been like that as long as i have been watching them.

The pair of em are absolute dogshite. Said on another post the other week that we couldn't get a decent goalie out of pair of em.
Davies isn't developing at all. His catching/commanding of his area is laughable. Distribution, non existent. First position that needs addressing in the summer

Davies was very good last season. Since Crossley left and this new goalkeeping coach came in, the goalkeeping standard has lowered horrifically

We could do with a few keepers but we'll probably just end up with more loaners instead.

Id imagine its got more to do with him being constantly dropped at the beginning of the season for no reason.

Crossley factor seems huge. This new guy must be something to keep his post

Bang on. When all else fails blame the supporters.

I agree with you, good Dr Z (and I still love you!) Thought Davies played intelligently on Saturday and did o.k.

Is Stephen Bywater still training at the club?

Would be a good experienced head who Davies could learn a lot from.

Thought that and put on this forum that we need a better keeper. Davies is like the Jean Mvoto of goalkeepers. He always make a **** up per match and it had cost us goals and points.....

But he has saved us points as well.

Not the finished article by any means though.

We need a stronger keeper as back up. Townsend is a liability.
