Just been listening to 'Talksport' and Durham's latest wind up!
Love him or hate Durham he knows how to get the wind ups in.
    Blunts ringing and texting abuse!
The Blunts spoilt the romance and magic of the FA Cup
by going to the Theatre of Dreams to play for a, draw, this, when Man Utd are seen as the most boring team currently, there for the taking and yet they played for a draw, for the money and they got what they deserved, nowt!.
    Love it!
Owt that bad mouths the Blunts on national radio is alright by me.
    Horrible club.
Would we have done the same though?

We didn't play for a draw at Anfield - we kept at it, and knocked Liverpool out.

Nobody could have blamed us for taking the replay, but we weren't interested. No. Let's see if we can beat 'em.

As for Manor Top, they are the gift which keeps on giving. Want to see a team you really, really hate blow it in the most heart-breaking (for them, anyway) fashion? Every single time? There they are. If they aren't scoring five goals away from home in a play-off semi-final and still going out, then Ched Bundy's getting sent down and costing them promotion. If they aren't clear on penalties in the play-off final only to hilariously, catastrophically fail to see it out, then they're singing about IS.

They never fail to please me.

Agreed. They have ignored what their licence payers want and instead show what their employees personally want to see on TV. Even Micky Finn has admitted in the past that he director has selected games based on what he personally wants to watch that weekend against the wishes of others

I have to agree. There has been some proper hypocrisy over the last few years and I'm sure its the same this season.

I would add that indirectly the premier league and Sky have hammered quite a few nails into it's coffin too.

Did I? When was that?? The picks are done by BBC head of football Mark Cole, along with his BT counterpart and probably some other bigwigs. They make their picks, then go to the channel controllers, who might well say no to a particular game, or a particular game at a particular time. Back and forth it goes until they're all happy. Mark is a Bristol Rovers fan of many years standing, so has no particular affiliation to any of the "big" clubs, despite what Dragon Tyke might dream.

It was a couple of years ago now that you said it. I can't remember exactly what the situation was but there was a match that you said all the department wanted to do w as it was the most exciting tie but one person, either a director or the head of sports wanted to a w a particular match instead and went against everyone else because he wanted it on.

I'll have a look back. I doubt I'd have phrased it quite so literally, as that's not how it works. I can recall the channel controllers standing their ground over wanting some all-Prem tie and snubbing the picks of the Sport dept. Maybe it was that. The only time we genuinely screwed up was not going with Bradford-Sunderland last year after the Bantams' win at Chelsea, but then us normal folk don't get to pick the games.
