I have an iPhone 5 that's on EE that I require unlocking to use with Orange in France. I contacted the store in Wakefield and this generated an email from EE saying the code would be sent to me in 10 days. 25 days later ( I made allowance for weekends and Xmas holidays) I have heard nothing. The store with whom II started the process say they can do nothing to help me!

Has anyone any idea what I can do to obtain this code?

Thanks for your help, gents. Trouble is I'm in France until February, so I shall just have to be wait until I return, or try Orange France.

You don't get a code to unlock an iphone I had a few done by various providers. Apple do it from their side and usually just send you an email to say its done. Try connecting it to itunes and then try a different sim in it, it may have already been done days ago

If you do get it unlocked, why do you want to put an Orange SIM in ?

Better to use a PAYG Three SIM, top up with £20 (used to be £15) and then you get 300 mins, 3000 texts and all you can eat data. Or £10 if you only need up to 500mb of data.

France is on their list covered by their Feel at Home package. Even though your abroad, you can use your minutes and texts to UK mobiles or landlines as if you were in the UK. What wouldn't be covered are calls to French numbers.

Have you tried another sim in your phone? I have a Samsung s4 on contract from orange (EE) and asked for an unlock code. they replied after a week that it was unlocked already, so tried Vodafone sim from work phone and it worked fine.
