Johnson said the Norwegian lad was a good player and we would have signed him at another time but he was 'too attacking'. Surely he must have known that before he came?

Too attacking? You got to be pulling our legs, I've heard some excuses in my time but that one ranks somewhere near the top of the list.

They probably couldn't play in the JPT.

No please tell me that wasn't the reason... 'Too Attacking'
Even a 2 minute google search shows that he is that type of player, even the great Wikipedia details him having the second most assists in the league and highest in his team.. That should highlight instantly he is an attacking player. God forbid he ever set someone up for a goal..wow

To sign anyone using the Tin Pot Trophy as part of the selection criteria is Madness but nothing suprises me anymore.

"too attacking" also means "he can't defend". Or "won't track back". He's perhaps just being nice.

This has to be a wind up surely. Rejecting a 'good attacking player' because he is too attacking minded.

I don't think we need another attacking midfielder so why the **** did we give him a trial in the first place (as others have said this is the very last position we need to be getting players for) and then to say we don't want him because he's an attacking midfielder who is attack minded is ridiculous.

Yep, we rejected the chance to sign a player with a very good pedigree and plenty of playing experience at a level at least as good as league one because he was too attacking? Supposedly because this was not the type of midfielder we were seeking.
Then lo and behold, we today sign a 20 year old with very little experience who is described by his parent club's fans as a decent attacking midfielder who hasn't got a tackle in him.
    Truly mind boggling.......
