I know players will be on some form of performance related pay however, this probably doesn't go far enough. A player can trot out 90 minutes and sail through a game with little effort just to earn his basic pay so..

Why not try and shake up the way players are paid.

My thinking is that we should offer more lucrative contracts based on the match results...

Offer a player a max salary per match which pretty much sayin this league offers championsip salaries..

For a league match if we win a match the player receives 100% of a this salary (could be adjusted if subbed),
For a draw they get beteen 65 and 70% of their max salary.
If we lose the player would receive between 40 and 50% of their max salary

for cup mataches offer should vary depending on who we were playing so criteria would be relaxed for instance if we were playing a premier league side and even tightened should we play a league 2 or non league side.

Our overall squad numbers may have to be smaller than average to accommodate the financial fair play rules but, overall what would the club have to lose financially should we win 75% of our matches.. Probably nothing because that would more than likely see us promoted.

If the club recruits the right calibre of player who has that desire to put 100% into winning every game then it's a win win for player, club and supporters.

Hopefully offering salary structures like this would put off the journeymen looking for their last pay day and ensure if we did sign good experienced players, they are here for the right reasons with that winning mentality and focus on giving their all. Why wouldn't they ?

Offering the higher salary should help pursuade players to sign and the right type..

It's an interesting thought. But the player will then bugger off to x. Because he can get our 100% as a basic elsewhere.

Or no-one would sign for us ever again because all we do is lose...

Well that is exactly the type of player we don't want on the books. But on the flip side, it would have to be to more than likely to a higher division because of the structure I was suggesting, the only way our wage budget gets busted is if we do brilliantly in a season and that then is offset by a likely promotion...

don't think its a salary thing, more an ambition thing, words say we are ambitious actions would indicate otherwise.
