There was a point today (at 3-0 too), where the ball ran loose to the left wing which we had been attacking. Mawson ran out to retrieve the ball, turned and put it straight back into the box. A month ago that would have gone backwards or square at best and any momentum would have fizzled out. This is what we need to be doing. Everytime we have possession we should be looking to put the opposition under pressure and creating opportunities by playing with a higher tempo. This is the way to play winning football. Possession for possession's sake and inviting the opposition onto you when you are unable to break them down is not technical football, it's not entertaining and it's not effective. More of what we saw today and I might consider thinking about looking to possibly contemplate changing my mind about the manager. Maybe.
Hope he comes to his senses and realises what you've known all along. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I agree fully. We look a far better team when we have a higher tempo. In fact we look good at the higher tempo and distinctly poor when we play at a slow pace.
If he is learning then the main beneficiaries will be the long suffering fans. 3 wins on the bounce in the league is proof that progress is being made. Rochdale will be a far sterner test next week but the confidence levels should be as high as they have been for months. Lets send Mr Hill home empy handed
Which is why I was critical of the Fleetwood performance and Brad Abbot, because losing Pearson meant we had no choice but to play him, he isn't the terrier Pearson was so we played at a lower tempo and we looked worse for it, back to how we looked when we were losing. Sent from mi bloody iPhone
You were critical because that's what you do. Criticise. Brad Abbott didn't have a great game, he certainly wasn't the worst I've seen in a Barnsley shirt however the abuse on here would have been laughable if if it wasn't so disgusting. Get a grip.
Critical of brad Abbott a young lad who hasn't played for months and Johnson was forced to play him as Pearson and Digby had gone. They were far worse players than Abbott in that game.
Why? They're *****, the whole division is. Burton top of the league, we lose 8 on the bounce and can still make the play offs - wow.
I'm not Mr anything. Copying that other tit makes you look a simpleton, I know you aren't so why do it. I'm perfectly for real and pointed out a very valid point, your lad only sees fit to criticise. That's the way it seems to many on here.
Because the last time we played them we got hammered. If we are improving then we will see a better result than last time out surely!? We can also still get relegated. Sent from mi bloody iPhone
That's about the funniest thing ive ever seen posted on here. I think I may have just done a little wee! comedy genius.
He wasn't the worse player in a red shirt that day but you chose to criticise the young academy graduate who hasn't played for months. Strange
