I bet Crawley fans are damning about the loan system and so annoyed he is taking the place of their young guns.

    I'm guessing that's the plan.

I hope he is working on his attacking. I like George's defending. He struggles going forward but hopefully this loan will help.

I agree. I think it's a confidence thing with him. He always looks frightened of being caught out of position when he goes forward. Not like that in U21s so he's got it in his locker. LJ seems to rate him.

I think the loan is good. Right now i think he would be exposed with Hammill in front as he doesn't cover back as much. White has the pace to cover. Be interesting how the left side develops over the next 6 months.

He'll have to improve a hell of a lot over the next 6 months to be better than White.

This loan will do him the world of good.

The same needs to happen to a few more of the youngsters to aid their development.

Its not happened enough over the last few years

They brought him in because of injury. Exactly how the loan market should be used

A loan is a stop gap, temporary arrangement unless its on a long term ie: 1 to 2 years basis.

To build a settled team permanent recruits are the way forward. The amount of loans the club has had this season is a joke and has hardly bared fruit.

Don't you mean, that's how you think it should be used? The rules state otherwise. Chelsea have 4 team players playing regularly for Vitesse. I don't think they have injuries.

I know it's not the way it is but it's the way it should be.

Coventry needed a striker, got Armstrong on a loan til January with the option of extending it til the summer.

Massive difference to us signing Crowley & Rothwell in positions we didn't need anyone just because they were 'too good to turn down'

I bet Crawley don't spend 750k a year on their academy either.

The bigger picture other than just our view suggests it's a valuable function. The U21 leagues don't test the players at the age where they should be playing but can't get into the first team. It's a valuable option for the higher team. We have done it with Smith, Abbott and Digby, two still out. Players need to test themselves to make the next step in their pro career. They need to get a different level of experience and even put themselves in the shop window. Lower clubs where money is channeller to the top and drained from the bottom need to supplement thin squads. Just because we haven't used it well doesn't mean the whole system is totally wrong.

    I completely agree.

We should use it when we've got injuries or when we can't get a permanent signing in a position we're short.

We should never even consider having 6 loanees before the season starts & at least 2 of them been players who are 'too good to turn down'. That's just stupid
