I'mgetting a little fed up with with this forum and I think the time has come toclose down the forum or sort out the issues once and for all. I know thefootball has been poor for a large part of this season but that's no excuse.I'm going to try and do the latter but Site Admin will need your help to dothis. There have been far too many provocative, outrageous, or pointless messagesonly to get a response from others not to mention the personal abuse. We've been runningthis forum for ten years and there have been some great posters in that timebut some of those have been driven away and the forum is a worse place for it. I've taken the decision to remove the two mostconsistent trolls on here. This isn't up for debate and if you would like to doso I suggest finding a different forum. (I can help enforce this) PLease find the forum rules below. There is also a link to them on the menu at the top of the page. Please use thereport button if you feel any posts do not adhere to these. Expect animmediate ban of some sort if you break these. Please note the first sentence "The BBS should be a respectful and enjoyable place for fans discuss Barnsley Football Club." If anyone has any ideas how to achieve this I'd love to hear from you. Forum Guidelines The BBS should be a respectful and enjoyable place for fans discuss Barnsley Football Club. If DrZazlos has been banned again then that is an absolute disgrace! He accepted his last ban and has been good since being let back on. You have given in to the idiots on this forum. You might as well just close the place down if that's how it's going to be run! All these threads about DrZ have been started by numerous posters and it is then that should be given warnings to, they have been baiting and it's a disgrace that these people have got their own way. As you have probably read the majority want DrZ to carry on posting and he agreed last year after he got banned to calm down and he has done. Sent from mi bloody iPhone
Well done mate great news for the forum and also for the club. The club take this forum way too seriously at the minute. But as a result of that the guidelines on here do need to be tightened up. Rightly or wrongly this forum IS having a direct effect on the club and its users and admin need to take some responsibility for that.
Disagree with that bit. The club failed to manage its own forum and as a result it closed. They can't then dictate, whether that is directly or indirectly via comments and little digs, what people post on an independent fans forum.
Dear Gally As I mentioned in a previous post, clearly a small minority have been taunting Doctor Z over the last few days with the seeming intention of getting him banned, these people have been flaunting the very same rules you have posted as a reminder to us all. Doctor has been behaving himself lately and has promised to continue with that well before these trolls started their mischief. You say not negotiable but I see an injustice here, if justice is to be served then the trolls who have attacked him lately should be the ones banned, and not the Doctor.
I was thinking that.. lock the thread! 100% agree Gally. Now we need to start getting in touch with some of the old posters, let's get this place buzzing with nice, fun, challenging banter. Yes there will still be disagreements. But the world should be a better place!. UTR
Is it possible to toughen up the procedure in joining the forum, to stop people who are banned simply rejoining with a different email. Some kind of closed group or summat, **** knows , what i have just typed probably dont even make sense lol.
And it's another thumbs up from me - well said Gally - I can't think why anyone would disagree with what you've said - well done!
I agree with this, Dubai. Whilst I have never been a prolific poster, I stopped posting on here a while ago, not because of TheReev or DrZ, but due to some abuse from other posters. I have posted only occasionally since. I like and respect Jay's posts, but there does seem to have been an over-reaction to TheReev and DrZ on here by some people. Let's get some perspective!
I totally agree, whilst I have only been a member a few weeks, I have followed the forum for a long time. I have been appalled in the past at some of the comments and personal attacks posted.
personal attacks won't stop with the banning on one person, another I could mention does little else than slag people off on almost all his posts. And to ban the recipient of the personal attacks seems a little crazy to me, it doesn't solve the problem at all.
Dear oh dear...... yes we have the inane repetitive drivel spouted by some when we lose a few, then the crowing in return by some when we win a few. We could just as easily lose the next few games as win them, hence the 'merry go round' of negative v positive posts. It is also true, as has been pointed out, that there has been a significant incidence of trolling aimed towards rev and dr z over the last few days and this should not be ignored either. It is evident that so many people on here take it far too seriously and the forum has become increasingly sterile as a consequence. The BBS has become a dictatorship, the demi-gods have spoken.
