Not really, the BBS is funded by 1 man, who is helped to administer it by a few volunteers. We come on here free of charge and can pretty much say what we want within reason - if some can't do that then tough - it's not a publically funded site - it's here by the good grace of Gally.

And imho the 2 who have been banned have brought it all on themselves - it wasn't their criticism (in the main this season justified) of BFC/Johnson - it was the dull repetitive inane babble and thread hijacking. Yes folk 'should' ignore them but when they tag onto every thread it's difficult.

As an aside it's probably done one of them a favour as I'd venture he was getting close to the legal limit with some of his musings surrounding Ben Mansford

 

Trust me they take it seriously. The owner does anyway.

Correct. And like I said, if he really took it that serious he'd have surely chopped Johnson yonks ago.

What they need to realise is that many of the more heated posts are done following defeats...these hurt the fans and often this board is the online equivalent of the post match pub rant.

Most of it is noise. It's football, it matters to us, we get upset we shout. End of.

I will not argue against Gally and his right to run this board exactly how he wants. Without him it wouldn't exist. However I don't recognise the nostalgic references to some halcyon era on here! It's always been the same. Most people are sensible and also realise that it is just mostly idle talk. Others are on the verge of nutterdom and obsession. The current crop of nasties are mild if anything compared to those in the past. Hope the board continues and we get some new nutters.

 

Gally as stated what the rules are and we all have to abide by them, it's his board to do with whatever he sees fit, personally I've no problem with what he's stated if people disagree then fine don't post, I just think it's time to move on because it's getting as monotonous as one of Reevs posts

I would have to concur. A certain poster from a South Coast naval base is, for me a prime suspect regarding posts verging on abusive as, particularly over the last few days, he seems to have developed some 'anger management' issues and seems determined to turn mild debates into slanging matches.

On a personal note, I was surprised that after being called a "bitter racist bigot" by one of our more left wing posters (after posting a comment a few months ago on how the migrant influx was affecting the communities already suffering from high unemployment here in rural Italy) , and after raising it with admin I was told to "let it go".

I have never been insulted by the good Dr. although the repetitive nature of his posts prior to his warning was a bit wearing as was Mr Reev's. Nevertheless I am surprised that, especially after his warning, Admin deemed it necessary to ban him.

I do feel for Gally though, since without him this site would not exists and he has every right to feel pi**ed and feel unappreciated when people take this site for granted (notwithstanding the fact he could fall foul of the law if anyone really messed up with posts).

I agree with the post - but as much as his previous posts annoyed me, if Dr Z has been banned, then on this occasion it's a little unfair - although I can't expect you or other admin to see everything that happens, so it's not a criticism of yourselves.

 

I hope this doesn't mean I have to stop calling Whitey a lovely person, because he really is a massive lovely person.

 

But how can you call him something that's useful?

 

He is useful, his forehead blocks the signals from all the government satellites spying on us

 

It's a shame that Gally has had to resort to such action, in 2016, on a forum populated by adults (and Roy).

I won't bother arguing against it, I said my piece last night in another thread.

I look forward to all these ace former posters returning now, and the forum returning to its previous glories.

But in all seriousness, it's been on its arse for a while hasn't it? Nowt to do with me. I've only spoke about boxing on here this weekend. Purposely. So aye, if I'm staying out of 'debates' tha knows summat needed doing.
