Attendance

If we was knocking about the playoffs what do you think the attendance would be?

I'm think we be pulling 12 thousand home fans a game. I've got to say are traveling fans have been class again.

Wigan fans are worst and most fickle fans I have ever seen going from sold out stadium in the premiership to 8000 average attendance a few year later is awful.

Thing with wigan is its a rugby league town I'm not sure they sold out the jd in the prem. And as for us we would have sold alot of half season tickets so maybe around 10 or 11 thousand home fans if we was in play offs

 

I doubt we'd put that many on the gate, for the majority of our promotion season in 96/97 we were only getting 6k if we were lucky, what was average gate last time we got promoted from this league??

 

To be fair to Wigan, most of the Premier League fans were exactly that. They went from the surrounding areas to watch Premier League football and were never Wigan fans in the first place. There was even someone from Barnsley who bought 4 season tickets just to see Premier League football on the cheap. Wigan always had a core of around 4-6,000 fans which jumped to 20,000 in the Premier League. They are now back to the core they had prior to that period in the top flight.

 

One would have been even cheaper

 

For fickle, look no further than out of your window, crowds of 5 and 6k, Had to laugh, a Donny lass at work spoke of 'The Black Bank' as though it was some famous Kop or the Yellow wall. I think she thought I was joking when I said I ent a clue what she was on about. Apparently it's a designated singing area at the Keepmoat where they're trying to create a bit of noise. Which is fair enough, but to be surprised that their nearest rivals haven't heard of it amused me. They call us dingles deluded on their board you know.

 

I reckon the attendance would be higher, but not by much. 10,000-10,500 tops.

One sub 7,000 gate. Not sure how you would define that as only 6,000 if we were lucky.
