Can't guarantee payment of wages for this month http://www.bwfc.co.uk/news/article/club-statement-2911785.aspx
I presume that means all staff not just the playing staff and I do have a lot of sympathy for the general staff who'll struggle to pay their bills without their wages.
I can't see how admin will help when it is clearly players wages that is the major issue and those same players that have amassed 12 points all season must be paid in full
What is it. Football debts come first? **** to the rest though. Although admittedly I'm not exactly sure what this stretches to (or doesnt)
The football creditors rule means players are at the top of the list and almost certain to get 100p in the £ while other creditors get peanuts. This ridiculous rule even puts players above HMRC on the creditor list.
I have no sympathy.........and I'll tell you why While clubs like Bolton, who are no bigger than Barnsley, have been spending millions on better quality players, those players have enabled Bolton to sit higher up the league than what they would normally have done........hence pushing teams like Barnsley further down the leagues and in some cases relegating some of those teams. I know I've advocated the Barnsley owner being a bit more competitive in the transfer market when dealing with issues like players wages - but when clubs go 30, 40.......100.........150 MILLION into debt then something is seriously wrong and they have done this to drag themselves above clubs like Barnsley. Its pay back time now.............long live Barnsley.
I've been waiting for this to happen for years. Never mind I thought. Things will go tits up and little old barnsley will fly above them all when they all start going bust. Got that wrong quite spectacularly didnt i. What should he brought in is what they did to rangers and Swindon. Start back at the bottom.
I wonder how much they were paying Craig Davies? So much that he could seemingly no longer be bothered to play for us, such was his rush to get away. Chickens are coming home to roost. I'll enjoy it.
I rarely have sympathy for these clubs that spend beyond their means to elevate themselves. Portsmouth for example, took a place in the FA Cup final of 2008 that could have been ours, admittedly they were in the other semi final so itd have been West Broms but still, sure their fans wernt thinking about the Wedt Brom fans who's place theyd took by spending beyond their means. Probably still paying for it for a club of Boltons statute paying obscene wages to the likes of Ivan Campo Fernando Hierro Youri Djorkaeff El Hadj Diouf Johann Elmander Niclolas Amelia Jay Jay Okocha David Ngog etc.
Until the rules are changed and more importantly the football authorities show strength and leadership in imposing them this will vary on. QPR basically stuck too fingers up at FFP and so did Bournmouth. Amazing how a season in the Prem changes clubs views on football in general in the UK. I could list many clubs who also flaunt the rules. The FL is too soft. Clubs who breach the rules on overspending should be relegated to L2. At least they stay on the FL. The rules however need tightening to be measurable and avoid them being shortcut.
It keeps you on your toes knowing there's 2 Donny Tykes. You never know if it's going to be absolute ballax or a well thought out post.
