Exactly my thoughts too. Hammill played wingback regular for Huddersfield so LJ could have used him there if he wished to. Sent from my GT-I9195 using Tapatalk
I will change my.vote from last time I voted keep bit I have seen to.many irrational decision to have Any confidence in him.
Pity the board did not have the patience to retain Hill or Flitcroft or Wilson. Just possibly one of these (or maybe all) would have turned their teams fortunes around. This guy, with whom I personally am not impressed, has been given the opportunity to arrest his failures. As such he should be supported until the day he departs either as a successful Manager to a bigger club, or at the end of his contract.
At the time, I would have kept both Hill and Flicker. Hill just needed the January and may have tuned it around. Flicker wasn't given enough time and deserved more respect for what he did the previous season. But for me Wilson deserved to go. He had lost the plot and was losing games we should have been winning. Same goes for Johnson and won't be behind him unless we get a few more wins under our belts.
Surely by this definition every manager/head coach relies on their best players to win games for them. Are Guardiola/Enrique no good because they rely on Messi? It's the same old story of it's the manager's fault if the team's losing and he gets sacked, yet if he's doing well, 9 times out of 10 it's down to the players. We went through an awful run and things have taken a turn for the better, why people can't just be happy about that I just don't understand.
Based off our current league position, the worst losing run of league games for 40+ years, the brand of football served up for the majority of the season, our embarrassing exit out of the FA cup, the baffling team selections and formations. Sent from IPhone
based on results, performances, tactical skills, line-ups, substitutions, motivation and last if not least the opinions posted on this forum.
Guardiola and Enrique wouldn't lose eight games in a row if messi wasn't playing though ... Bit of a poor comparison. Pep guardiola might well be worse than anyone we've had as a league one manager. I'd fancy myself to do a job for barca and bayern. And have you actually read my post? I have given him credit for the turnaround, and I am happy that results are improving
The problem from my perspective is that this wasn't the first long bad run we've been on in his short tenure and there have been times when even when we've won it is has been like watching paint dry. I am happy we seem to have turned a corner but wins over some lower half third division sides including the worst side I've seen in years has not convinced me that LJ is a decent manager. I'll support him while ever PC keeps him on but I don't expect our fortunes to change much while he is here.
I think that Hammel is the saviour, aided and abetted by White, similar to O'Sullivans contribution last year.
Pretty much this. And let's face it, he would have gone by now if the board hadn't cocked up and give him a 3 year contract. Sent from IPhone
It's nothing to do with his contract. You don't get paid off the full worth of your contract. In fact it's no where near. Sent from my GT-I9195 using Tapatalk
Sure many a sides fans would have said we're the worst side theyve seen in many a year, thats how bad weve been so when people say we've improved, it wasnt as though we could have gone any further backwards was it? But aye, lets all dance to the sound of LJ's tune. It's party time, we've beat Blackpool and Shrewsbury and are 17th in L1. Oh and dont forget in the Northern Area Final of the biggest competition held for mediocre or failing football clubs. New contract please. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Apart from the fact it ****ing horrendous... All of a sudden we had an abundance of quality attacking players... Winnall, toney, Watkins hammill isgrove. How do you fit your top scorer, a striker... And your highly rated loan striker in the same team? Play one in a midfield role and negate his impact ? Or play them in a front two?
