The Yorkshire marathon in York in October. Shoot me now. Only started doing road runs in November 2014. Furthest I have run so far was the Leeds half marathon last May. Must be mad but keeps the blood pumping.
Good luck...plenty of time to build up the miles before October...and hopefully some better running weather in between
Yes. It's to do with my step daughter. In 2017 she is going to Peru for a month with her school. she will be doing various projects including helping build houses /schools/community centres amongst other things along with a four day trek to Machu Picchu. A once in a lifetime opportunity for her but she does need to send find it so this will be my contribution.
Good luck. You posting a link to justgiving or similar for sponsorship? Sent from my GT-I9195 using Tapatalk
Should be setting a justgiving page up at some point i imagine. I dont expect in the way of donations as its not the usual charities that people expect and maybe it wont touch a chord with the majority of folk but its a big thing for my step daughter. (plus she will be 17 by then and have to live for four long weeks without wifi which will be her biggest challenge of all)
A half marathon will seem like a piece of p*ss compared to the joy you'll feel in your legs when you get past the 20 mile mark. I ran my first marathon last year. Stupidly I ran the Farnham trail marathon - didn't read what 'trail' meant before I enrolled - but loved the whole experience until the pain of those last few miles. I find training through the summer months better for me - don't like getting up early to run the streets in winter. Very, very best of luck to you. Is the route hilly or mainly flat do you know?
Flat course. Did the York ten mile event on same day as the marathon that uses the same course. I struggle on hills and trails. And thanks everyone.
