The first few weeks were a mixed bag. A good performance against Everton, decent games against Swindon and Gillingham, borefests against Burton and Bradford and absolutely woeful against Rochdale and Chesterfield. The tip tap ***** masquerading as technical football clearly wasn't working and I hoped Johnno would abandon this after the Gillingham game. Unfortunately he did not and from that game until Blackpool at home was the worst football I have ever seen in my life. There is no doubt that Johnno should have been sacked. Any other club in the league would have got rid after the Altrincham game which was the worst I have ever seen. I'm not going to get revisionist on this - he had to go. From the Blackpool game something has changed. He has abandoned the tip tap ***** and replaced it with high tempo football running at the opposition, playing with width, getting the ball to the by line and getting it into the box with pace. This is what I have wanted to see all season because it works. Today was the best performance since I don't know when. I hope that Johnno realises this type of football is more effective and persists with it. I'm far from won over just yet but he's going the right way about it. YRCO.
I don't usually agree with your posts Conan but I agree fully with this, I'm more on keeping him now and I'm glad the club have stuck by him. Long may it continue
