..the great work put in by Marley Watkins today.

Lovely little flick forward to Hammil for the second goal.

Excellent header to Fletcher for our third goal.

Chipped in with a goal himself.

All round energy, he does a lot of work up front that leaves gaps and space for Winnall.

One of my men of the game today.

Yes agree with all that mate, a slow start but for me 1 of the first names on the team sheet!! When we played Fleetwood other Saturday we missed him massively

He's one of those players that seems to not attract attention. But by the christ. When he isn't playing it's very noticeable.

One of his best games for me that today

What a terrific footballer he is. Loved him from day 1. For me a guy who puts in that much effort on behalf of the team is an inspiration. His attitude and willingness to work infects those around him. Behaviour breeds behaviour and with Marley we all know that he'll put in a shift. Whether up front or on the wing we know what we'll get from him. And he is a player with an eye for goal and a bit of trickery. Enormously underrated on here but thankfully not by our manager. It's players like him that make a team tick.

I know Sammy scored 3 goals but when they first announced to text your man of the match (which I never do), my first thought was Watkins (I don't think Sam had scored his 3rd then or I'd have thought of him).

Like on stage if the bass player is missing. Years ago at a Steeleye Span concert their bass player Rick Kemp was taken ill and missed some, if not all, of it (can't remember if he came back). After a few songs Maddy Prior said to the audience "This is just weird. All I can hear is what's missing".

Agree in terms of his effort and importance to the team but he's a cut above Daggers in terms of ability.

The minute he came back into the side we look complete again.

He must be playing well because he's keeping Fletcher out of the side who is going to be one hell of a player.

He definitely does a job. I've always been a fan of the work of the second striker, I preferred Wilkinson to Hendrie, Sheringham to Shearer, Bergkamp to Henry. He compliments Winnall well.

I like Watkins as a central striker and he played well yesterday. Not sure how much longer he can keep Fletcher on the bench. A nice problem to have though.

He's a phenomenal footballer. Glad he got his goal yesterday. I do actually think that he's a fantastic finisher too, but he seems to take the more difficult chances rather than the easier ones. He's part of the reason Winnall has scored as many as he has, and Winnall's purple patch seems to have coincided with Watkins coming back into the team.

Watkins must be an absolute nightmare to play against. Got great movement and pace to burn. He's also not afraid of getting stuck in and his work rate in that team is second to none. Keeping him and Winnall fit and working together is the key to moving up the division.

He was great. He just seemed to put himself about so well.

I'd say 'unsung hero' but we are all praising him so hardly unsung.

    Great performance.

I have been singing Marleys praises from the first game. I liked him when he was at ICT and was so pleased with the signing. I even had this conversation with JLWBL before a game who agreed too. Maybe I was singling out his play when I watched but I thought he added a lot to the team and provided balance in so many ways. More physical, can play wide or down the middle, unselfish and works hard at closing down and tracking back. I was surprised before Christmas how many people on here didn't rate him or needed more. I don't think he is giving anything different I think his switch to the middle and the experience and balance overall in the squad means the team is performing. As such people can now be more observant of what he really offers. He had 7 league assists before this weekend. I think he has been involved in the build up to many of our goals. I like him, like his attitude and great to see others have noticed too. Worth watching back earlier games now he is in focus, especially his contribution Millwall away and Scuny JPT away.
