People would have to barmy to freeze in the ast stand watching it on TV. I'd say the chances of this being true are extremely slim. Although yesterday I went to check on prices for the match and my online account said I didn't have sufficent privilages even though SPHs have had since monday to buy.
Is just me or have the club seemed to overestimate the importance of this competition to the fans? I know we got a great turn out for the first leg but that was surely more about the price? I think it would be great if we won the competition but beaming it back to oakwell?! Are people that interested?! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
The club aren't overestimating, they are actually trying to make the fans value it more with their propaganda. Because a potential Wembley trip will paper over the cracks of a season in which we continue to flirt with relegation and would have been dead certs for it had we not brought in Mr Hammill. It makes LJ look better than the ten bit Sunday league standard coach that he actually is, and glosses over the fact we've had a downright terrible season by bigging up this 'success'. Let's be clear. You can look back on my comments on this tournament. It's a Mickey Mouse competition which serves only to give more unnecessary games to already stretched squads. And potentially a trip to Wembley. I hope we beat fleetwood and go to Wembley. It will be a nice day out for a lot of you. I'm no hypocrite, I'll not go. I've no massive interest nor do I care much whether or not we win it. Is only value thus far is building confidence - for that reason alone I hope the team do ok. Though last time we lost at Wembley we backed up with some vital league results, so it works both ways. The league game against Oldham which we're meant to be playing that weekend is of much more value. And would be yet another rearranged game in a backlog of fixtures. We might lose a few to ice and or snow yet too. I hope fixture congestion won't cost us.
Well now gentlemen: Big Screen At Oakwell For The JPT Area Final Second Leg! - More from the official site... 25-01-2016 03:31 PM I don't repeat things I've been told unless they are from a very good source.
Technically it's not a beam back. A beam back is what we did for Liverpool where a match that wasn't on the TV was beamed back to watch in the East Stand. This is just a case of turning some TVs on (sometimes a struggle at Oakwell) to show Sky Sports which I assume they already have anyway in the legends suite.
I was told about this before the date was moved and Sky coverage was announced. I think that you can therefore assume that had it not been on Sky there would have been an arrangement to beam the game back. Obviously the Sky coverage will save them that trouble.
It's just an offer of a package in the Legends Suite, and to watch the game on the big screen in there.
