Did we miss a trick here? Or is the Scottish Premiership that bad?
14 goals this season, 8 in his last 6 games...

The latter I'd argue. Had enough chances to impress with us but looked a long way off it.

Was played on the wing and mainly off the bench, hardly given a chance.

Yeah I'd say that's how I remember it, we seem to have a habit of playing strikers on the wing

Well from what I saw, big Jabo was the one we let slip that could have done a job this year.

Rather have had Watkins, Toney, Fletcher than Hemmings

I thought he was alright. Needed to get a bit sharper and a bit faster, which I believed could come with training. He could certainly shoot.

hemmings did start to hit his best form at home roundabout this time last year (while wilson was here), but i agree hes an average player at best in a truly awful scottish league. we didnt miss out when we released him.

Bit of both, he never got a run of games though did he, maybe he wasn't a good trainer.

It does seem like some players can do nothing for a month and still get picked, others don't impress in a game after being given a chance and they are straight out of the team again. Not saying he would have ever done the business for us, I always thought he looked a little bit too casual on the pitch.

I think it says more about the Scottish league.

He was a good finisher but the rest of his game was poor for this level & his fitness wasn't great

No........it says more about how dis-organised and desperate Barnsley Football Club currently is..........always looking for the quick fix

If it doesn't happen with a player - then move on to someone else in a few weeks.

Winnall was cr@p during the lengthy period when we were losing...........look at him now

I'm actually surprised Winnall is still at the club

Kane Hemmings is a solid League 1 player. We played him out of position far too much. People didn't like him because he was never gonna tear the league apart and with last season being fairly underwhelming, a number of players got the stick. Would have liked to have seen him this season as well as Berry and James Bailey.

He will never make a career in England above L2 level, if that. Scottish football is dreadful

    Disagree.

Hemmings had plenty of chances, he wasn't up to it.

We all know Winnall's a quality league one striker but he's not suited to been a lone striker. Not strong enough to be a target man, not quick enough to stretch teams. He needs a partner soon as he got that he started to perform

You could say the same about some fans as far as a manager is concerned.

Poor player and no way near the standard required.
I can remember watching him (and really hoping for him to come good), his reading of the game was so poor, which meant he was chasing the game all the time. His positional sense was weak and he seemed not to link up with anyone or anything.
Good luck to him but I wouldn't swap him over what we have now.
Ps the standard of the Scottish prem isn't fantastic but it is a slower pace than down here.
