Is there any possible way we can get our message to the board and the people who handle the negotiations regarding this? This is a good chance for us as a club to change the way we are viewed and percieved by other clubs. If we stand our ground here other teams might not even offer in future as they know what the answer will be. It's just a knock on effect. Obviously the guys in charge will do whatever in the end anyway but can we somehow at least relay a message that we will be extremely pissed off if we get ripped off here. Not just because he's a fan favourite but how are we ever going to progress as a club as a whole if we keep getting short changed. If we're going by the Washington transfer as it's the most recent one then a good 2.5m could (with the right transfers) get us out of this division. We could, with the increased revenue get a firm foothold in the Championship and in turn get Oakwell full again with more fans wanting to watch as we have a clear plan, direction and "our sort of player" now, whereas before we were just winging it with old veterans who couldn't be arsed. Come on Ben and co. If you somehow read this then do us all proud and either tell them to do one and let's see if this team can do something together or make sure we get the 'right' fee and re-invest wisely. You Reds!
Apologies Sir Marc. It's something I feel strongly about so I thought i'd write it on a PUBLIC forum. How dare I? Bring back hanging.
We are assured that the club read this board but whether they take any notice or not is another matter.
So you think Stones was worth 1.5m? Don't think it's me on the 'gear'. Couldn't of said it better myself old mate.
I was told the other week by another poster that the owner takes this place very seriously. So no doubts the sentiment has been picked up on this one. We need to take a look at how JD handled the Ashley Ward transfer. ******** out and get a cracking deal.
JD can take no credit for that! He was prepared to accept about 2.5m You can thank johnhendrie for the fee we got!
I don't think JH had anything to do with it. JD rolled the dice with Blackburn and told them we'd had a bid of over £4 million
