And that confirms the death of football.

City will rule Europe for the foreseeable future and as soon as they have a Champions League in the bag Messi will be a city player, they'll double the current world transfer record to get him.

    Football really is ****** now.

So they allow for possible disruption by allowing the current manager to tell everyone he's leaving when they are still on for a quadruple. Be quite amusing now if Man City win all four trophies this season, watch their manager go and then Pep wins fook all now he's going to be in a managerial challenge for the first time in his career.

Why would Messi leave the best team in the world for a team outside the top 5 team in the world? No matter of wages, transfer fees....

You really think Man City will be outside of the top 5 in Europe in a few season's time? They've already bought Barca's Director of Football and CEO, they're building an absolute massive club off the field with their new reserves stadium and top class academy, they're getting the best youngster's in Europe. They're putting everything in place to be the biggest and best club in Europe, once they have completed the stadium expansion and all the three tiers they will have one of the biggest stadium's in the UK. Once they are successful in Europe they will attract the elite with money absolutely no object. Expect a world record bid for Messi to team up with Pep in the very near future, l guess we'll soon see if he would be willing to leave. If not Mansour will just buy Barca.

He'll not leave at all. Just can't see him leaving the club he grew up at and paid for his medical bills.

I guess we'll soon find out, Talksport just asked Harry Redknapp if he thinks Messi will team up with Pep, he replied "they could do, they have the resources to do what they want, especially if they have a few champions league wins".

Why does Pep guarentee they will become one of the 5 best teams in Europe? If anything he's took Bayern backwards while he did well grooming that Barca side and getting rid of a few big names, it'd take someone of incredible naivety to not realise the talent he had available in players like Messi, Iniesta, Xavi, Busquets etc.

They will never be as big as United no matter what they do and if they decide to see sense and get rid of LVG and appoint someone who isnt a dinosaur then I'd fully expect them to finish above City next year with the players they have and finances available to them.

Peps completed 6 seasons and won 5 league titles, 8 points clear this season. He's won 19 trophies in those 6 seasons. He's won 63% of all trophies he's competed for. He's now got the biggest transfer budget he's ever worked with.

United are done for, they'll be ok in the Prem, FA cup etc but they're no longer anywhere near the best in Europe and won't be for years to come they need a complete clear out. Man Utd fans won't give a manager time, they were booing they other week whenever they passed back to the keeper, half of them never watched them in the 80s.

I wonder how bored City will get watching his possession football though? No doubt it works.

Hes won 5 league titles in leagues where there is little competition. Madrid for all the money they have spent, have had rare success over the last decade and Atletico wernt challenging at that point and Bayern are streets ahead of anyone in Germany. Its very different here.

As for United, they need a new manager no doubt but if they get the right man, Pochettino would be my choice if I was them, they are still a much bigger draw than what City can ever hope to be.

Dunno the buyout amounts in the contracts of Messi and Ronaldo but if any owner/manager combination could get those two playing for the same club team it's Manchester City.....

The premier leagues had 3 different winners in the last 11 seasons, in the same time the bundesliga has had 4 different winners and la liga 3 different winners, it's a bit harsh to say he's had little competition. The premier league had turned into a three horse race until this season and it's probably going to be won by city who've already won it in recent years. He took over Bayern after Dortmund had won two titles on the bounce and Barcelona after Madrid at won two titles on the bounce. His first transfer window will be very interesting.
