I seem to recall that Is groves 93 day loan expired with us. We then re signed him on some kind of loan till the end if season. Timings are different so does that make a difference? ...so to speak Sent from my GT-I9195 using Tapatalk
Isgrove was on an emergency loan and then was extended until end of the season on a standard loan. We had to do that with Long before 11pm last night for us to keep him longer.
I can't imagine he won't be back after that. I reckon we've done it to allow us to extend his loan until the end of the season when it reopens and that maybe it'd also include any Play Off campaign, just in case.
For Barnsley or any other club to sign somebody on a free agent between now and the end of the season, they need to have been a free agent by 11pm last night. That's why we saw **** loads of players yesterday and over the weekend being released giving them the rest of the season to find a new club. If somebody were to be released now, they would have to wait until July 1st to sign for somebody.
I wouldn't get your hopes up about Long staying. This quote is from the official site: "The defender's loan stay has been extended to the maximum emergency duration of 93 days - keeping him with the Reds until February 19th." Unless he can return to Burnley, and then re-sign under a 'new' emergency loan..
