There's a few on youtube. Most of the goals are poacher's goals which isn't a bad thing, but the quality of the games looks terrible.

It's quite addictive watching videos of surreal non-league night matches in empty stadiums.

This is probably the most skilful goal:

... but this seems pretty indicative of the level he's been scoring at:

No doubt that's what Premier League 'fans' say about League One.

That looks a dreadful standard of football.

And people still keep banging on about Ashley Flynn. Emley play below recs level. Mike Phenix would get 70 goals a season in that league. Any pace and it's easy.

Seems a bit of a Phenix style signing to me. I've seen the chappie play on quite a few occasions. He was one of Halifax's better players without being a standout. Still he may adapt better than Mike.

Which makes it all the more incomprehensible that we managed to lose to Altrincham!

To be honest, I only play Sunday league these days, but the standard that some teams play at is pretty damn good. OK, you get the occasional team that are your stereotypical 'pub side' but for the most part, the days of hoofing it as far as possible and sliding tackles from hell are all but gone.

    Are you an idiot?

    Don't take things so literally.

Any half decent player with good pace who is playing below his level is going to walk any league. Especially low level football.

It's never been a rediculous statement. It's only rediculous if you're too thick to read between the lines.

    Obviously you are that thick.

He's thick because you don't fully elucidate your point?

    It's ridiculous, not rediculous.

Then again, I am thick, so take that with a pinch of salt.

The point is obvious - anyone with pace will score goals at a low level of football. You don't have to be a good footballer, just quick.

When people are talking about football.

They use phrases like 'anyone with a bit of pace will tear him to peices'.

    or

'He struggles against anyone with height'

People who understand football know that you're relating it to footballers who play at the same or similar level. Not just any old person. They're not referring to sprinters or baskeball players.

I made a reference to Mike Phenix. With him being a pacey player who plays well above Emleys level. But we know first hand he's no where near football league. Drop him known to Emleys level and everyone would be talking about him. Like they are Flynn. Who if you go and watch him is way too quick for that league.

Put a striker in that league such as Jason Price who is also above that level but not as quick. They don't have the same impact. Defenders at that level struggle massively against pace. As Flynn is proving.
