Chief Operating Officer says it's ongoing, they're still working through a shortlist of candidates and beginning to narrow their search.

No appointment is imminent, there are people City want to talk to.

Reporter says Pemberton's chances are fading, links Garry Monk, Gareth Southgate and Tim Sherwood with the vacancy.

Also says they want a head coach, not a manager.

Interesting stuff and thanks for posting. Seems there is no link or actual approach for LJ then. Bizarre that he is 1/6 with SkyBet but that could change in an instant I suppose.

I'd like to think all the above names stated would be in front of LJ for the head-coaches job. But you never know

You would, only thing is they look to be a sinking ship, and I'm sure those managers would rather not be in charge of a League One club next year.

But then same goes for Johnson. If we do get to Wembley, why leave that and a team on the up looking to push for the play-offs for a desperate relegation battle and someone else's playing staff?

I'd be amazed if there hadn't been a conversation between Bristol City and LJs agent. Clubs don't have to speak directly with the manager to know if he would be interested.

As far as I can see Johnson is the only one they would have to pay compo for.

Would still be their cheapest option too because the three names mentioned would surely not drop to a championship relegation battle. That said down the line i'd not mind bringing Monk back here as our manager :)
