He's just put it's coming to a head in the next 48 hours so hopefully after tonight he realises he's onto a good thing like David Prutton said on Sky. If he goes then we know he has no loyalty at least until the end of this season and we move on as always. Our first choice before LJ, Mark Cooper is unemployed. No compensation to pay and he's a very intelligent manager.
i guess bristol will push even harder for him now, if they genuinely were after him before. feels like a similar analogy to winnall for me. there's a lot of reasons for him to stay and a lot of reasons why the club might hold him to his contract. but i get the impression cryne genuinely likes the guy, and probably wouldn't stand in his way if he said he wanted to go. i think it would be a huge shame. he said it was a 3 window job and things genuinely seem to have started to take shape. would be nice to see him finish the job, but that's football.
the only person i think he genuinely owes is patrick cryne. if he goes with patrick's blessing, i don't think he owes anyone else a thing. i suspect many of those currently demanding loyalty, wanted him out just a few weeks ago.
He'll go with Patrick's blessing, if he does go. If the rumoured cost of £500k to fire LJ was true, then surely that should work the other way round too? Bet it doesn't though ...... I think he'll still be here like. When has the favourite for the BFC job ever been the one we appoint or end up interviewing?
Lee Johnson. Or was that some kind of ironic, rhetorical question? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
If Lee Johnson goes to Bristol in the next 48 hrs, I'll eat my hat in the Ponty End on Sunday....just so there's no confusion, or cries of welshing, I will describe my hat now..it is medium brown with a silver foil under part...shaped very much like a beef pie.
Watched his interview on player when I got back and I really got the impression that he will not be going anywhere. This prob sounds really daft, but just by the way he said "we" when he was talking about the Bury game and other stuff and his whole demeanour suggested this. If he was going, I think he would have been more coy and would even be trying to drop subtle excuses in. Logically also, I can't see Bristol City thinking he is best for the job, their fans don't want him and why throw away what is now going on at BFC? Now I have said all that he will probably be off first thing tomorrow! Sent from my GT-I9195 using Tapatalk
I don't really recall Johnson being the bookies favourite for that long. He was down the bookies pecking order before we made an approach. Just like Hignett was down the list when we 'offered him the job'. So little money placed in the market that any bet or rumour changes the odds. Look at him moving to evens for the Brizzle job tonight from 10/1 on. All over the place
Unless he's under massive pressure from his family to move back to the area, it would be madness for him to go. He's got a real chance of a trophy and promotion so early in his career, which would be fantastic for his CV for the future. If he goes it could read 'walked out on two jobs and has a relegation to his name' Football is a crazy business but staying with us is just common sense.
im getting the impression that lee is more than interested in the bristol job, and they are a bigger/better club than us at the moment! but after their obvious relegation this season, and our 'possible' play off challenge and possible jpt cup final win, he might just decide to stay with us.
Lucrative 3 year deal, sacked by Christmas, start again in league 1 or 2 ... KERCHING. 'course he'll go if it's offered.
LJ leaves, we get Mark Cooper, win at Wembley, make the play offs, Bristol get relegated and LJ gets sacked after a poor start in L1 next season and ends up managing Crawley. Or something like that. Thee watch.
