He's proved he can manage teams in difficult circumstances......and you cant get more difficult managerial jobs than Leeds and Rotherham..........plus, and importantly, he's one of our own. I would NOT.........promote from within. If we can keep most of this young side together, there are signs, at long last, that something is beginning to be built at Barnsley. We cannot rely on an inexperience manager to take that project forward.
weird how opinions differ in football innit. personally think neil redfearn would be a terrible appointment
Why on Earth would we be able to poach a manager from a team above the team that is poaching our current manager? "We cannot rely on an inexperience manager to take that project forward." He's got about 2-3 years managerial experience total..... Not that I don't want him but your post is nonsense.
I hear Jose Mourinho is looking for a club. We've no chance in hell of getting him to drop a league, accept less money and pay the compo the three year contract he's on would mean. He's our hero and my favourite ever player but his managerial record is average at best over a fair few clubs and i'd hate for him to be our manager and fail. Think that's one of the things that would put Mick off ever accepting the position too.
Obviously dreamboy you are 'in the know' that Redfearn is on more money at Rotherham and we would have to pay a massive compensation scheme I just look at what he has achieved at his last two clubs........both in turmoil in different ways, but he did and is still doing a great job
Nudger Sorry but I have to agree with the "not Neil" posts. I love him like he's family. That man wrote to my dad when he had Alzheimer's and he is one of my all time heroes....and I'm sixty firkin years old.....but I don't think he has the vision. Unfortunately I think rovrum will get relegated and I don't want them to. Brave appointment by Tony Stewart but I think redders and Nicky will take them down. Hope I'm wrong.
Well...... not long ago, when Johnson was looking like he's be sacked, I happened to have a meeting with a guy at a local non-league football club. As we were chatting, his mobile phone went off, and it was one of his best mates, Neil Redfearn on the line. They chatted briefly about a match the night before. When he put the phone down we got talking, and I told him I was a Barnsley fan, and to cut a long story short, Redders mate said that he would drop Rotherham in an instant to become manager of Barnsley. He loves this place. Make of that what you will.
