If Lee Johnson has indeed decided to go to Bristol, then good luck to him. I won't whine too much about that decision, seen as though I spent most of the tail end of last year calling for his head, so apologies if I don't seem too despondent.

That said, the club is in good shape - the league position we are in, the squad we currently have, a Wembley final appearance to come, and any manager that comes in will inherit a very good hot seat indeed.

My personal choice for the job would be Steve Davis. I think he's done a good job at Crewe and when I've seen them play, they try to play good, attractive football. Time will tell, and everyone has their own opinion, but this is just mine.

Suppose that's the difference this time around, every time we look for a new manager we are deep in the sh*t, surely we will look like a much more attractive proposition for someone now - not lost for ages, some good talent to work with (albeit with a high reliance on loans still), the chance to walk out at Wembley, and a decent chance of the play-offs.

Not got any real preference on manager, although I'd prefer it to be someone with a bit of experience rather than a former player who has never managed before.

I think we should look within the club someone who knows the players the team picks it's self now we don't need to chase big names.

As redrum says the team is virtually picking itself, and playing good football, no need to have someone coming in and destabilising that.
If it ain't broke...don't fix it.

He's been my preferred choice the last two times we've needed a manager. Working wonders at Crewe under difficult circumstances, playing decent, attacking football.

Crewe also operate a similar model to what we're trying to implement, so Davis would likely be on board with the setup.

Feel a bit indifferent about who we might go for this time round, where usually there's someone that I'm obsessed we must get.

Crewe are shocking, so it's a no from me.

Agree. Why we'd want to poach a manager from a team that are a point away from the bottom is beyond me. They're not exactly punching above their weight to be in this league either. We can do better.

And yes, they did beat us, but so did Doncaster, Southend, Walsall, Fleetwood and Scnuthorpe in that same month. We were poor that day, but I don't remember them offering much. It was a bit of a smash and grab.

Thought Crewe were the worst team I'd seen in years at Oakwell. Yes they won but it was all down to our schoolboy errors and terrible tactics. I don't think many Crewe fans rate him at all I'm sure they were booing and calling for his head not so long ago.
