That's not true. He could've quite easily put Scowen at RB like Johnson did this season of played someone out of position. It's funny you give him no credit for signing Scowen when I know for a fact he went & watched him & Alfie Mawson play whilst they were both at Wycombe earlier in the season yet you refer to Frimpong as one of his personal signings when none of Frimpong, Shea & Proschwitz were players he requested the club sign. They were all offered to the club by agents on relatively low money for the name each one of them had in the game at the time. We needed a short term fix out of desperation to stay in the championship. There was no scouting or background research done into them signings by anyone at the club
So now you are telling me Wilson had frimpong Shea proschwitz pushed on him and forced to play them. And was not only responsible for scowern signing but also Alfie Mawson was spotted by Wilson aswell. Ye okay
No I've not said any of that. I said agents were touting all 3 of them around clubs & we took them. All I'm saying is they weren't players Danny specifically requested or anything like that. It was all a rush job if you remember & him getting the job came out of the blue. Because they needed players in quickly to try & turn things around they took a gamble & it didn't work. Any manager who only takes a job in late December isn't going to have a list of signings lined up. And I know Danny went to watch Alfie Mawson. Plenty of clubs were watching him at the time. I know because I know another scout who was watching Mawson at the same game. I've no idea who originally spotted him at the club. Probably one of our scouts.
One would imagine that agents are touting players all the time. One might imagine that the manager had a plan of his own when taking the job. We did go down without the fight we'd shown over the years. Wilson took on a bad situation. He can't be blamed for relegation. But he added very little, if anything, after taking over.
