At this moment in time Yes. I Think we should keep monitoring the situation on a game by game basis say upto and including the Easter fixtures, then make a decision after that. If things are looking alright then, give him the Nod till EOS. By alright,I don't necessarily mean still in with a play-off shout, but things generally looking ok.

Yes. It's all well and good going for 'continuity', but if we lose a couple of games and need to try something new, then we need some experience capable of doing so.

I agree there will be questions over Heckys ability as a motivator, tactician and ability to work under pressure. But I feel we're in a great position to give it him until EOS and see how he does.

    Re: Not me

I don't see any need for the club to rush into making an appointment. The team's in fine form and Heckingbotham and Wright can be given the opportunity to continue it. If things go downhill (and it'd be amazing if they didn't given current form) then the situation can be reassessed and the decision made as to whether someone needs to be brought in. Personally I'd be delighted if performances continued to justify confirming Heckingbotham as manager but there's no panic to do so right away............

If we can continue the great run we've had since the beginning of December, then I'm more than happy to see Hecky carry on. As a club, we're under no pressure to rush into a permanent appointment and I see nothing wrong in giving Paul a go at the job. This is all assuming he actually wants the job.

I don't disagree with your point of view, however I would have thought that during the poor run we had earlier in the season Lee Johnson would have involved both Tommy Wright and Paul Heckinbottom in his thinking. They were very much part of the management team on the pitch then and will have learnt a great deal about themselves and the players through a difficult time and will have a valuable insight in how to overcome such times.

I feel a match by match basis is too uncertain for the players and the club, give them say 3/4 games and then make a decision to either recruit or appoint them to them at least until the end od the season, if all goes well then on a longer basis so they can consider recruitment and planning for the new season. Continuity and a degree of certainty are vital in my view.

Seems sensible to appoint him until the end of the season with a clear idea of what would land him the job full time. I think a top 10 finish is a reasonable target.

Give them a chance for continuity. Why pay compensation for a manager who will come in with different views and probably his own staff or employ a manager who is unemployed because of a poor track record. Let's not upset the apple cart just yet.

I'd say give him a go until the end of the season and then review things.

Just Huddersfield Red I think. To be fair though, he also insists the earth is flat and there are 8 days in a week

    Re: Not me

We are on the crest of a big wave right now and the adage 'if it ain't broke, don't fix' seems perfectly reasonable and I would be OK with that. However it really depends on whether PC, MW, BM see Heckinbottom being made of the right stuff for the longer term, which could include managing in the Championship. It a really tough call but I think they will stick with him for now.

The problem I have is not with Hecky, but this EoS thing.. Are folk just trying to edge their bets here..?

Do we really want to go into the summer with loans and out of contracts departed... looking for another half a dozen new players, plus a new Head Coach/Manager.? id say not...

Id give Hecky the rest of this month, the next 3 games say.... Depending on how things are looking then, either offer him the job full time, on long term deal or rolling contract. Or leave him as coach and get someone else in.

Get someone else in with enough of this season left, that they have assessed, and know what they'd like to keep and what needs to strengthen long before pre-season.

So no not EoS for me.......Id say Hecky on a long term, or a new man in, by the end of the month.

I think this is a sensible approach, albeit I would be happy for the final decision to be the end of next month.

Yes me.............according to most reports we have a good un at the club in Hecky

So why not add another good un to the club management ???

Its not going to cost us compensation............AND.....we are receiving a sum of money from Bristol for Lee Johnson

    Keep Hecky..........sign Neil Redfearn...............that's a WIN WIN

I'd say see who is available before making a decision, we haven't been such an attractive proposition for ages, if we could attract a really experienced guy who has been successful I'd say go for that but negotiate Hecky and co into the deal, let him gain experience with a view to being next man in.
BUT if they did give him it I wouldn't be upset either
