Those who weren't bothered if we got to the final or not of this seemingly pointless competition, have you changed your minds now Wembley fever has gripped our football club or are you sticking by your guns and staying at home?

    Does it really matter?

we'd look a right part time 10 bob club if we only took out ST numbers or less.

I hope we sell our entire allocation. Enjoy the day and we come home with that shitty silver pot :)

It doesn't matter, but it's a genuine question. There were a few posters who made remarks about it just being the JPT or how it was embarrassing we were even in the competition, so I'm interested if their view/opinion has changed.

Was always going to go and I'm looking forward to it. Can't understand anyone who says otherwise.

Been to to almost every match in this cup

My daughter never seen us at Wembley and my son was only 6 last time we went and didn't really appreciate it.

Both are really exited for the final.

    Fair question pal.

I've said it plenty. Mickey Mouse cup, and that I wouldn't be going to Wembley. Waste of games and energy.

Have I changed my mind? Not really. Maybe slightly - influenced by the reaction of everyone else on here and the excitement of the players at Fleetwood on Thursday.

However, the reason I'm being a massive hypocrite - and I freely admit that - and planning on going to Wembley is for my boy. I had no intention of going, but he's 8, 9 this year.

My late dad, originally from the north east, family full of Newcastle fans, so obviously a Liverpool fan (!) took me to Wembley when i was 9. It was the first professional match I ever went to. Leeds Liverpool charity shield, 1992. Cantona hat trick, Gordon Strachan with a comical OG. I can honestly say it was the best day of my life up to that point even though Liverpool got beat. (I was a toy Liverpool fan as a youngster. My love affair with Barnsley came later, via a pretty awful step dad who's only positive influence on me was this fantastic football club).

Anyway, my Mrs pointed out that my 'I've been to Wembley plenty before' and 'I'll go if we get there in a proper competition' attitude was pretty bloody selfish when our Rhys might never get the chance again. And she's bloody right. Days like that are what little lads dream of.

And I'd rather be a hypocrite than a selfish lovely person.

Didn't you realise his age before last Thursday? I've said from day one (on here and podcasts etc) that I'd go! Tin pot or otherwise.

But I'm not in the 'let's take our ST holders only' camp. Love to see 25-30k for me.

Cannot understand people that go to Rochdale away a normal match but decide not to go to Wembley

Could be economics. Coach plus Wembley ticket substantially more than a trip to Spotland.

I'm flying over for it. Wouldn't miss it for the world. We haven't won a cup competition for 104 years, and there's no guarantee that it won't take us that long again to get to our next final.

Hope there has been a change of mind, many said it probably expecting us to fail in the early rounds. Its an occasion that doesn`t come round too often, a trip to Wembley and a chance to maybe see our first win there.

If anyone has changed there mind, well good on em. Hope you have a cracking day/weekend.

Haha fair point. It's more the realisation of what I'd be preventing him experiencing!

And to be honest having got there, having seen us lose twice there, once in each incarnation of Wembley, even to me it would be terrible to miss the occasion. Especially as we will surely start favourites too.

It is a tinpot cup, but days at Wembley don't come often to Barnsley fc. It means so much to the hardcore fans - as I've read on here, many who have supported for many more than the 22 years I've been going. I watched Thursday's game on my phone at work too - the reaction of the players sold it to me even more.

So hypocrite - yeah, but I hope everybody else who said similar to me sucks it up and gets down to that London on April 3rd too. Let's shift 30k tickets if we can, try and match Oxford, out sing them, out play them, fetch the tinpot home and use the momentum to carry us into the top six... We might already be top six by then.

Exactly, its a far more palatable excuse if people need one than saying I just can't afford it.
Still lets not stop berating the ones that aren't going e?, just to make them feel bad.
That's not to be said that there aren't people who don't fancy it because its the JPT, I bet there's also a lot going that have taken the piss out of other teams fans in the past for getting excited about it.

I think I'm the opposite of everyone else (I know, I know). I haven't been struck by Wembley fever at all, I hate the place. For me Wembley stadium is everything that is wrong with football. It is an embarrassment how much it cost to build and what is actually there to show for it. The keepmoats big brother in an absolute shithole of an area. Wembley stadium could have and should have been built for a fraction of the cost in the centre of the country and the original wembley could have been turned into the worlds finest football museum. Instead the towers, the history, were unceremoniously smashed to pieces and a plastic soulless vacuum was built in it's place. The Premiership anyone?

No, I haven't got Wembley fever. Wembley is merely an inconvenient and sad necessity in the aim of watching Barnsley hopefully win a trophy for potentially the only time in my life. I'd rather watch us win the JPT on athersleys ground than watch us win it at Wembley but so is life

I was just about to say that I'm the opposite of everyone but maybe I'm not now! I went to all the JPT games bar one as they are cheap and I like cheap matches. I'd rather watch an under £15 match no matter what the comp than pay £27 to watch one (although now I have a season ticket I can watch many more). However, despite attending the majority of the games I don't think that I am going to Wembley. There's the cost of course but also I attend matches on my own, I just don't fancy (or more truthfully don't dare) going all the way to Wembley alone and sitting by myself.
