I would also think he was offside?? (Messi?) Surely by his positioning he is interfering with play when Suarez shoots? Or am I really thick when it comes to the 'new' laws?
Messi plays the ball forward, Suarez is behind him, from what I recall from when I saw it Messi was then behind the ball when Suarez hit it. The only thing I thought and the coverage couldn't confirm, was whether Suarez had encroached into the area before Messi took the kick.
Said the same when Arsenal did it. Olé! football is all well and good, but I think that's a piss-take. No class. Why not just let Suarez take the penalty?
Players always encroach - once you notice it once and start looking for it you can't help but spot it every single time.
Nope, he's in front of the ball, (watched it again). Really petty I know but I think the penalty was taking the piss so I would have stuck my flag up!
Can't see the issue. Should teach defenders to stay switched on. I'd be fuming Suarez got there first if I was Celta manager
I'm not so sure about it being a lack of class. It depends on the thought process really. On the one hand it could be done to take the piss 'this is too easy for us, let's take the pee out of them', on the other hand it could be in be to fool the keeper and make it easier to score which is surely the whole idea and in the spirit of the game. On the most basic level it is no different to faking who is going to hit a free kick or running up and tapping the free kick to the side for another player to hit and they are common sites which nobody claims to be unsporting. On an unsporting taking the pee level is it any different to hammill messing around doing stepovers just because he can? As I say I'm not sure where I stand because I don't know the thought process behind dojing it though knowing the players involved I suspect they were taking the piss
Messi should have been booked for ungentlemanly conduct. Not shooting from a penalty is taking the, err, Michael.
unfortunately they haven't done anything wrong, it needs footballs governing body to change the rules, I'd like to bet tho that if it had been Hammill and Winnalll against Rochdale them we would have loved it
Give over. It's brilliantly inventive. Disrespectful my ar$e. Funnily enough not one person from Celtic has complained. The footballing world is offended on their behalf though. No different than a well worked free kick, or a dummy, or an overhead kick, or a nutmeg. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
