We need to simply start putting away our chances. In some games and the next two Tuesday could be the type of matches when we might get two chances all game and we need to score at least one to win the match.

We dominated 2/3's of the pitch but missed so many chances starting from a Winnall missed header from what looked 8/10 yards out max. It's a part of his game that needs improvement and he also had a chance in the second half from about 8 yards. This time he got it on target but with so little power the goalkeeper had to wait to catch the ball.

In the first half up front like in recent matches when we've done well its been Winnall deep and Watkins up front. It's the only role I think Winnall can do and it makes the team have a 4411 shape. It's also a positive off the ball because when Barnsley play a team with a DM he can get around him and stop him dictating the play.

In the second half Winnall went up and played on the shoulder of their defenders. Hes not got any attributes imo to play this role and intern the team couldn't get in between the Doncaster defence and midfield. It got stranger for me when fletcher came on and he was playing deep and Winnall in the advanced position.

Marc Roberts. I can see it already, opposition teams will be licking their lips with him. Roberts playing gives their team a great way to isolate a player in the defence and leave him little options with picking out a pass. He passed a ball to Bree yesterday and i've not seen Bree react like that ever to another players mistake. He just couldn't believe that Marc couldn't pick him out.

Also with Roberts playing it's not great for the players either side of him. Both Bree and Mawson need to concentrate of their games rather that what a limited player next to them can and can't do. Also Roberts long throws look a waste of time to me.

Bree wasn't great yesterday but he wasn't that bad either of what people are making out imo. Gordan Owens compared him to Stones and said negatives about UNDER EIGHTEEN Bree. Please remember that. Not many on here would have seen a great amount of Stones at this age and although he started in the Championship hes got another 6 month of development to go before he starts out at that age group.

At times he could get frustrated with those around him because they don't see what he does.

I agree with most of that Phil. I was a little worried at half time because we should have been two or three up and I knew Donny wouldn't be as bad in the second half. Credit to Hecky and the team though, he made changes and we got what was a deserved win.

Bree is a brilliant young talent and we need to stick with him in the team at the minute. I really rate him and the way he is developing I believe he has a very bright future in the game.

Roberts worries me, we don't look as organised without Long. If it was me I'd be tempted to try and get an experienced centre half in on loan. I think Roberts will come good but we have very little depth in our squad and experience could be the difference between play-offs and mid table.

The loss of White is a big blow in my opinion but happy to give Williams a run.

Roberts Maybe needs a loan move away just to play games and see if he can adjust. Bring in anther centre back and get Roberts on a 28 days recall.

Roberts may have his limitations but who else would you put there? I'd have him in the team over Nyatanga every day of the week.

Nyatanga of the second half of last season, yes but the one of the first half of this then no. Simply look for a highly rated 19/20 year old at Arsenal/Chelsea/Man City/ Man Utd/ liverpool ....................

    Why?

I'd sooner have someone in the mould of Long, Ramage, to help the young players we already have in the team. We need a leader at the back, not another young kid.

Anthony Kay seems to have lost his place at MK Dons.

Mawson and Bree would be better playing at the side of a equally talented player.

Mawson played with someone the same age or similar last season and thrived.

Maybe a loan move would be in his best interests, get him some game time and experience. The problem is that he is probably our best replacement centre half at the present time so maybe keeping him in the squad is the better option. One for Hecky to ponder over.

would a Tyias Browning be available? knock Ramage and Long out of the water he would. 21 year old. Former England u20 can play a couple of positions.

Until recently I'd have said no but I think he could offer us something for the rest of the season so I'd be OK with Hecky getting him in on loan.

Not bothered to read this yet but I bet the word Winnall is in there about 10 times. Am I right?
