Not in the greatest of health, receiving regular hospital treatment for conditions relating to his playing days. Would be nice if two clubs he gave sterling service to got together and invited him to Wembley.
Always remember that ******* goal against Sunderland, on the Friday night when the East Stand felt like it was about to come down. Get well soon, Mr. Shotton.
Great idea He was an excellent centre back for both clubs, I remember many conversations about him with a work colleague who is from Oxford. Certainly one of my favourites at the time.
No nonsense centre back & great leader on the pitch. Just the sort of player we could use now! Hope he recovers & the clubs get it sorted...
Maybe a round of applause and a name chant from both supporters camps at a certain time in the match.?
I talked to him a few times at Toyota while I was waiting for my car being serviced. He was a salesman there at one bit.
as hard as nails : a proper defender that was respected in the game layers were scared stiff of Captain Shotton, the broken toe tale is true and it is proper that both clubs show warmth for him on 3rd April. He has a velvet tongue and sold a mate of mine a Toyota when he only went in the use the bog.Luvvley Man Get well soon Big malc xxxxx
He scored one of my favourite goals. Probably this one as it was midweek and from below the east stand from miles out...
