We won yesterday. Kept a clean sheet. Just as we did at Bradford when he played most of the game. Mawson's had worse performances than Roberts this season. But he kept his position, and his displays have really improved. I'm of the mind to let Robbo see out this season in there.
I'd rather have a defender who has played enough time to know when to play a pass or smash it into row z. Not some pretty boy u21 kid who's never had a hairy arsed centre forward like pope or Hansen in their ribs.
Mawson and Bree made more mistakes than Roberts has. Like I said and I will stand by this Roberts needs games in our 1st team not a loan spell in league 2 or conference in our 1st team.
Don't get the loan Roberts out comments. He played early in the season in an ever changing back 4/3 and no settled formation. Now we have a confident team and he has got his chance. He is inexperienced at this level and needs experience. Taking all that into account there is a suggestion to loan him out? That simply defies logic.
Graeme Le Saux has just said he'd like to see some more experienced Man City players, alongside the younger ones, to help them out. Then again, Graeme Le Saux is over 35 so probably doesn't know what he's talking about.
But we're only allowed to sign 19/20 year old centre half according to opening post, lets **** on one of our own and sign a premier league defender
We need to give Bree a chance and make allowances for his age, but we don't give a player coming back into the side the same flexibility, even though he was playing in a side that kept a clean sheet, because Bree was upset about a stray pass.
That young centre half for City HT was going on about, has been all over the place positionally. And he's got an Argentine international beside him.
Reyt idea. Let's get a kid with very little competitive experience, stick him in a back 4 with about 50 league 1 games between them, let him drop a few clangers as he gets up to speed and then he might start settling in just as the season finishes. Genius. And what informs your opinion that he's better than Long?
Bree had a simple pass the other day but put it out for a throw in instead. Drop him and burn him. Davies managed to miss the football pitch with one of his passes, I've organised the public hanging for first thing Monday morning. Mawson tried passing to Hourihane but missed him and the opposition got the ball. He is scheduled for a loan spell at frickley as punishment. Speaking of Hourihane, one of his passes to Watkins went straight into the East Stand. Are you going to break the bad news regarding his contract termination or am I?
His date of birth. Hemsworth loves kids. For the thick people/person who seem to think that means hemsworth is a pedo I would like to point out that this thread is about football players and not sexual preference.
Bree passed straight to a Gillingham player for their first goal. Didn't find many on here ripping him to bits, just support for a Barnsley footballer.
If Bree's making mistakes like that in September then I'll say that's not good. Roberts WAS told quite publicly by Lee Johnson Marc's then manager that HE HAD to improve on the ball. I see nothing to suggest hes improved. I see/ hear a player whining on at a youth Match that he was left out of the team to a youth coach at the club. There was a person that bit his lip and didn't say anything but could have told him to stop it and put the energy into improving.
Winnall's general play hasn't been great the last few games, but he's our only natural goalscorer so can be forgiven for not being on it for 90 minutes every game. I'm happy with his current contribution, as long as he keeps scoring. The only reason the defence managed to keep a clean sheet yesterday was because Mawson was terrific. Roberts just isn't very good on the ball, Bree gave the ball away just as often and Williams didn't look comfortable playing on the left. It's lucky Donny were poor or we could have lost that game. I'd be tempted to give Nyatanga another shot if there isn't any signs of improvement against Bury.
But they weren't very good Andy. We could and will play better teams and when we do it's highly likely we'll be found wanting at the back. Winning doesn't equal everything been rosey in the garden. That mentality will cost the any one. resting on your laurels ............. What every word I put on it the simply facts are things must get better. When someone gets to World number one theres still things to improve. YCCC's very own Joe Root got to number one in Test cricket. The next Interview he gave he listed out a load of things he's got to improve on. Rory Mcilroy will do the same. The NZ Rugby Union team after the world cup in 2011. We need to improve.
