I will be in the pub as i am refusing to pay Ticket Master £4.80, inflated travel costs, but mainly i just can't be arsed.

I'm not going at the moment as it stands. Mainly for the reasons stated above, although I will definitely watch on SKY. I just don't see what the big deal is really. It's the most pointless competition ever devised - give me 3pts in the league any day!

I cant be arsed either. I get some kind of masochistic pleasure from watching us play away at the likes of Bury on a cold Tuesday night , but not the thought of going to Wembley gives me a kind of inner dullness !!

I'm not going either , after not rating the competition for years I'm not that much of a hypocrite.
That and I don't particularly like rip off Wembley anyway.
Mind you if we got to the play off final I'd go.
Hope we win like, for all those that are going

Tinpot, micky mouse, whatever..... It's just the thought of possibly seeing Barnsley - our little club, with all it's bloody faults - lift an actual trophy, in an actual final, at the actual Wembley stadium that gets me a little giddy, if I'm honest. Those years in the 70s, stood with my grandad on the corner between the Ponty and West stands.....I'd have never even come close to imagining what a Wembley trip would be like. Forty-odd years on and this will be my third visit - hopefully third time lucky - and I, for one, would not have missed this for the world.

I couldnt give a toss if it was the Mrs Miggins Ye Olde Tea Shoppe Trophy. The club i love and have supported all my life, the club we all support, talk about, stress about and occasionally get the chance to bask in very rare glory have won through to a cup competition final, a final being played at Wembley..the national stadium.

Now if you cant be arsed, cant afford it, dont care enough thats your want , enjoy it on tv, go shopping or something whatever rocks your boat but il be there, il be enjoying it and il be making sure i savour it.

I'm not going. Basically it's because of work - I can't afford a weekend off. That said, the fact that it's the JPT might have something to do it - I'd probably close up for half a day and get down for the playoff final if we made it.

Its embarrassing to even be in the competition, never mind having it advertised all over sky sports. Lets have a competition where only failing and mediocre clubs can compete, brilliant idea.

    No I wont be going.

Those that aren't going for the reason.....'it's a tinpot cup' get off your silly high horse and go and watch your team at Wembley!!

What have you to gain by sitting in house or in pub watching it....nothing!!

If you can't afford it the far enough but coming out with feeble excuses really gets on my nerves

For the purpose of clarity -
It is not embarrassing to be in the competition,it is a cup competition for league one (that's us) and league 2 teams to compete for the chance to play in a Wembley Final and win a trophy along with a decent amount of money.Judging on the reaction of our players on reaching the final I doubt that they are embarrassed at their achievement. Failing & mediocre I don't get that at all.

    Me n all.

Yes, it's a competition for the lower leagues, but we're in the lower leagues so why not win it? It's a weekend in the capital, a trip to see your club at Wembley again, the club stand to make half a million pounds out of it, it's generated a buzz around the club again, etc etc etc. If we win it, I imagine it will give the players a boost too. I really am struggling to see a negative point.

If it's so irrelevant, I expect those who say so, not to watch it on Sky or post about it on here.

Whether or not is embarrassing is a personal question and IMO I am embarrassed to be in it.

I dunno whether I will watch it on sky, maybe I will maybe I wont, its a meaningless game. I wasnt bothered about the cup semi final, if we got to the FA Cup final maybe I'd change my stance but a Johnstones ****ing Paint trophy final? Seriously?

Family days out like this whilst also seeing friends neighbours etc all in the same place are far and few between IMO .all wanting the same goal of our team hopefully winning .
Not since the old days of Barnsley feast week will we see events where we see old/new friends walking about with families etc like we used to walking on Blackpool prom or fitties caravan park.
I know some lads that didn't go to Wembley when we played Ipswich and as everyone knows even though we were all dissapapointed we lost what a great day out it was.
When I speak to people now and start talking about Wembley and the Ipswich game they always wish they had not been so stubborn and gone down as the reason they gave was they could watch it in the pub far cheaper but they could never have the memories what we had on that day. By the way the same lads were almost front of queue for tickets toCardiff at Wembley game.

I understand fully some folk not being bothered about it one bit, but 'embarassing'?? Really? How?? If it's a reminder of our level in the football pyramid, then I'm sorry, but we're where we deserve to be. We are a third-tier club, in the final of a competition only for clubs in that and the fourth tier. In what possible way is that even remotely embarassing??
