Won't happen sadly. They have said we'd need 17-18k to make the same amount due to increased policing, losing so much pay on the day revenue etc and they won't take the risk of selling for like 150-170 and not enough people signing up for it. I don't see the risk because they can get around it simply enough. 1) Everyone pays the same amount as they did this season. 2) Club release details saying if X amount sign up you get it for X price and have a few different tiers so more who pay this seasons full amount get it as cheap as possible. 3) When the final season ticket sales by say the end of August are revealed the club who will have bank details, home addresses etc of all those who paid the full price can start reimbursing people however much they need to depending on how many sign up.
I'm just about due my annual plea to the club for some sort of flexi-ticket, for folk who can only get to a small handful of games, but would happily stump up a wedge upfront for a minor discount. I only get to 4, at best 5 games a season. Let me buy a five-game flexi-ticket for £100. Small saving for me, a guaranteed ton upfront for the club. Doesn't guarantee you a ticket for any particular game - you'd have to book as normal and exchange one of your five vouchers. I ask every year. Nowt gets done. To be honest, if our season tickets were that Huddersfield price, I'd buy one anyway. Income upfront for the club and I'd do my best to get to a few more games.
Correct. They got £5m for Butterfield with another million to come if Derby are promoted this season. £2m for Coady, £1.5m for Smithies as well as getting shut of Vaughan who was earning a fortune. They've spent naff all in over 12 months, save for the couple of hundred grand they paid to Carlisle for Dempsey. Increased solidarity payments from the Prem this summer too. Much easier for them to implement such a deal. I do though reckon we ought to knock at least £50 off the price of ours, especially if we remain in L1. And make it £20 on a matchday, no more.
