What the f*ck is wrong with the world these days? They obviously weren't having a dig about something that happened THIRTY years ago.
I think it's pretty insensitive myself. In the same way you wouldn't play Leaving on a Jet Plane if you played Man Utd. I dare say the fans took it in good humour........
Unless it was just a genuine mistake. I once played 'What a beautiful day' in a club the day Diana died...I didn't do it on purpose, i just liked the song and only realised once somebody had pointed it out.
Even if it's a genuine mistake, it's still about a sore subject. If I put my foot in my mouth, I'd say sorry. I'm not in the business of being offended on someone else's behalf, but I do think this warranted a statement from Blackpool. It doesn't deserve a fine tho'.
oh yes, an apology for a mistake is appropriate, which they have done. i don't think it should go any further now.
And it wasn't Bradford or Bradford fans who complained. It was actually the Blackpool fans who said it was insensitive.
Aberdeen DJ / Announcer was sacked when he played "Who let the dogs out" when Rangers took to the field. Now that was funny. But the Blackpool one? Hmm.
