Has anyone else had this upgrade forced on them? I'm being told it will be installed in 56 minutes and only have the option to delay it by 8 hours. I don't particularly want to upgrade and certainly not today when I'm extremely busy.
Personally not had any problems with windows 10 although its also fair to say its only used for pottering about on and not for work purposes. If i remember correctly, and its several months ago since i did mine so it could have changed, you did get the option to roll back to your previous OS. This was also a one time only option though so it may be worth trying out the new OS before going back.
I just upgraded this morning - to be fair - so far there have been no issues. Took about an hour so set it going whilst I had breakfast. Other than cosmetic changes seems the same as Windows 7 (I realise that that there are more than cosmetic changes). So far as upgrades go I would say that it's by a country mile the most painless one yet. I'd say set it going and see what comes of it.
I have now found a way to stop it, but the point was it would take too much time on a busy day. One and a half hours installation and then god knows how long afterwards putting all the stuff back on that I use. I use it for my job and I've got loads to do today.
I'd recommend upgrading on a quieter day. I've been running windows 10 since August and it's so much faster, so much better. You'll not have to reinstall any programmes or any documents, they'll all be there for you. Obviously, I'd back up first, in case anything does go wrong, but I believe that's rare.
Just as an FYI Windows 10 tracks pretty much everything you do on your computer, what sites you visit, what programmes you use etc. There are ways of stopping it if you look online, but from what I can gather its not too easy to stop them permanently. It's the reason I've not upgraded one of our laptops. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
i was going to post this yesterday. Our laptop was Windows 7. I have been clicking no to the Windows 10 update. But yesterday I woke up to the Windows 10 upgrade asking me to accept t&c. I declined and it said Windows 7 would be re installed. Got it home from work and Windows 10 was installing again so I kept it on. i don't mind win 10 but prefer 7. Just seems this time the upgrade was forced rather than an option
I've had it installed for about 6 months. The only problem I've found is that my old scanner is not compatible, but I do have another connected to my printer so it isn't a big issue.
Heres a nice little piece of standalone software to stop all the Windows 10 crap doing your head in GWX Control Panel http://www.majorgeeks.com/files/details/gwx_control_panel.html
Just reverted mine back to Windows 7. Internet been really slow on win 10. Made all the recommended setting changes I found on google but still no better. Speed test of 1mb last night was the last straw, so reverted it back. You get 1 month to go back to previous windows
