Mike Ashley/Benitez - that can only end well.

I read somewhere that Davie Moyes was the favourite.

At FC Twente, hadn't won before or since though so he did a good job there.

Hope they dont enquire about LJ cos he's now managing his 'home town club ' .Obviously he would say no to clubs like Newcastle / Celtic / Rangers / Sunderland / Man utd because they're a bit too far north for the poor love .

I used to think that managers must be mad to go to certain clubs but football has changed so much. If Rafa goes to Newcastle I don't think he'll be blamed if they go down and on top of that...

    He'll be paid a fortune.
It won't really affect his reputation - how often do we see failed managers getting job after job after job.
When / if it all goes wrong he'll get a massive pay out.

Managers are vain, they think they are the special one who can turn around failed or permanently injured players and they think the same about clubs, even basket case clubs.

Money talks, it doesn't matter who the paymaster is.

Rafa is the king at doing and awful job, getting sacked and moving onto his next pay packet with a huge pay off cheque in his back pocket. Couldnt think of a worse manager to employ, this is the man who wanted rid of Xabi Alonso to make way for Gareth Barry after all.

From memory when he got Boro to UEFA cup final he had a strong squad of players

    Schwarzer
    Ehiogu
    Southgate
    Mendieta
    Boating
    Cattermole
    Downing
    Hasselbaink
    Yakubu
    Viduka

And those are just off top of my head.

    Poor England manager though
That last qualifier needing just a point didn't he drop James and give Scot Carson his first cap?
