Legend for what he did first time round. I don't agree he deserves alot of the credit if we go up. That is ridiculous if we had been still at bottom of the league people wouldn't be saying he deserves some blame for sending us down. Lee Jay, Tommy wright and hecky and the full set of players deserve the credit.
granted, but still only two. scowen isn't first XI which is why i didn't mention him but yeah, great player. to say he deserves a lot of credit for where we are today though, seems very far fetched to me. he had a lot more to do with our relegation than our current position, IMO..
again, very tenuous for me. bree and smith are both academy, while davies and williams have only started to develop very recently. i don't see how danny wilson had much involvement in any of those being the players they are today.
All right, but apart from the sanitation, the medicine, education, wine, public order, irrigation, roads, the fresh-water system, and public health, what have the Romans ever done for us?
It's like saying Nigel Pearson deserves a load of credit for Leicester City been top of league. Or Alex Ferguson for man u failing to make champions league season after he left. Load of ******
Wilson didn't sign winnall and Hourihane . That was the transfer comity that signed them. The system was part implemented when the club got relegated and that summer the club said they split it. He got his way with the lita's and treacy Brown ...... Of the world have the system signed a lot of the younger players like the one mentioned. The club quickly noticed that the success rate of the systems have when they booted him out thank the Lord they fully implemented the system fully. Both Me Cryne and Mr Mansford mentioned this. Did he talk about talking utter **** after Doncaster away or his complete snobishness to fan fan that tried to ever talk to him at the training ground. . .whatever we've gone through this season the games haven't been anywhere near the **** level or Donny away or notts co at home or Watford away or Bolton away or Leeds at home. Not in the same continent. It was great when LJ came in. Smile on his face and happy to talk to anyone because they were just human like him and not looked upon like some dirt on the bottom of Wilson's shoes
i'm not saying he didn't sign a few good players, but i don't think he deserves much credit for where we are today. others should be taking a lot more credit for me.
Good players - signed by committee Bad players - signed by Wilson. Alrighty then. You can rate Wilson as a poor manager if you want, no worries, but you've entered the realm of a personal slant against him there. You're passing (2nd hand) comments without any regard to what was happening at the club during his tenure. And as regards 'snobbishness' ? Dear me, if you'd ever chatted with the bloke you'd know what a grounded individual he is. You can debate someone's abilities without resorting to falsehoods and wishful thinking.
The comity didn't get every signing right. I never said that. Berry and Hemmings aren't at the club for a reason but it worked in a whole
I think he is right about the signings take scowern signed a few week before Wilson was sacked when things were bad on the field. Why would the board let Wilson sign him if they had plans to sack him.
to be fair, many of the signings under danny wilson were poor, including the disastrous january window, which for me was probably the single biggest failure that took us down. so yeah, if you're making the 'transfer committee' responsible for our player signings during that period, they were largely terrible. i honestly don't think it's that simple though. i think danny wilson was involved in all signings and was a part of that committee. i still haven't quite got over frimpong. featured in your best ever XI for barnsley, didn't he? ;-)
You must be joking? Danny couldn't get these lads playing in any sort of promotion form. The players and Hecky/Wright get all the credit. We were no where near promotion when LJ left so no credit to him either. Just a well done on getting us to Wembley. Sent from my GT-I9195 using Tapatalk
The club didn't have the system from what they've said for the Jan transfer window in champ. Was under the old model. The last time from me on Frinpong. I liked him and could see he was a very good player. Wilson didn't use him properly. He was a player used to a 3 and crusty played him in s 2 with mellis in local game clashes. He needed help settleing but Wilson didn't and frimpong got the flack. Imagine going Wenger to Wilson. Ones a very good manager and the others a very **** one to put it politely. From a f1 car to 3 wheeler
I know at least in the case of Josh Scowen, Danny Wilson had never seen him play. Scowen was head and shouldered above anyone in league 2 on certain stats. The recruitment commitee wanted him and they got him. Sent from my GT-I9195 using Tapatalk
