Would be interesting to see the average age of our team who played in the JPT. Not Under 21's, but not too far off, especially seeing as they're always allowed three overage players. Also, what category is our academy?

Yeah but we're actually in League One, not the Premier.

Would also be a chance for lower teams to visit places like old Trafford and Stamford bridge

    So works both ways

Would it though? I know some academies don't play on their first team pitch. Man City's academy has its own 5,000 ish seater stadium.

And I suppose it would still be a nothern/southern section divide so we'd only ever meet Arsenal, Chelsea etc in the final.

Not sure how beneficial it would be to see a team full of Dan Crowley sized players against a team like Millwall, Bradford or Southend. Bloodbath

That's kinda my point. I'm not really in favour of the idea, byt it would be interesting to see how our lads got on against supposedly higher quality youngsters.

Dean Saunders said earlier in the season when he was managing Chesterfield that top u21's football is below conference standard. In his opinion of course. He was basing it on his experience of both.

I guess the technical level would be much higher, but judging by the very much hit and miss standard of our loanees, he's probably about right, if we're taking into account how physical attributes contribute towards overall readiness for men's football.

He was with chesterfield that are tier 3 at best. The teams that would come into the jpt will be strong teams.

In the Manchester senior cup Man Utd u21's beat a strong Rochdale team 3-0

    No no and more no.

    Let's keep pandering to them.

Rather like 99% of business and governments.

    Tackle the problem at source.

Ie premier league teams stockpiling any sort of talent.

    **** em.

If they don't get games it's not league 1 or 2 teams fault

Money money and more ****ing money.

Hit a nerve that I think

This to me just proves what I've thought for a while...

Premier league football matters and owt below that doesn't.

I would think no over age players would be allowed to play and if so, should we still be in league one, I would fancy our chances against 11 young ens who have never played in a "real" competitive match anyway

How about putting a system in place where the top clubs cant just sign every half decent kid in the country, infact every country and loan then out numerous times until they realise they arnt good enough and release them.

Another nail in the coffin: a toe in the water before Human Rights Abuse City and Polonium FC put their reserves into League One.

If JP's accepts this, its time for leagues one & two clubs to pull-out, and let the premier league U21s have it all to themselves.
