Sorry I never attended a game to see you display your skills. But your memory lives on.

Can remember him when I was at junior school, we all tried to do that famous drag back thing.
    What a player!

Sad news. I saw him play against England at Wembley in a friendly back in 77. Holland beat us 2-0.

Very sad - one of the genuinely great players - I was a bit too young to really appreciate Pele but Cruyff was the first absolutely standout player I remember seeing and probably the best. Far too young and RIP

What a player, although well before my time.

His trainers were bloody expensive though.

John Peachey regularly used to do the 'Cruyff turn' back in our Fourth Division days. Unfortunately, after beating his opponent, John tended to cross the ball out for a goalkick!

'74 World Cup is first I remember as a kid. (9 years old). Started going to Oakwell regularly with my dad at 10 & that world cup really got me interested in football. Holland were the best team in '74 & Cruyff the best player by a mile.

Sad to lose him, but he made an impression on anyone who is 40 or over I would think & anyone younger will have heard the name & seen clips of him.

    R.I.P. & respect.
