Aged 68, from cancer. One of the best players I've ever had the pleasure of watching. http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/johan-cruyff-dead-aged-68-7621135
Can remember him when I was at junior school, we all tried to do that famous drag back thing. What a player!
Had the pleasure of meeting him a couple of times through work - an absolute gent. Old school polite stuff. And what a player!!
http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/34709898 A genius made me love football and started a lifelong fascination with Dutch football. Genius Orange.

Had the pleasure of seeing him play for Barcelona against Liverpool in the seventies at Anfield ...... All time great RIP .
Very sad - one of the genuinely great players - I was a bit too young to really appreciate Pele but Cruyff was the first absolutely standout player I remember seeing and probably the best. Far too young and RIP
John Peachey regularly used to do the 'Cruyff turn' back in our Fourth Division days. Unfortunately, after beating his opponent, John tended to cross the ball out for a goalkick!
'74 World Cup is first I remember as a kid. (9 years old). Started going to Oakwell regularly with my dad at 10 & that world cup really got me interested in football. Holland were the best team in '74 & Cruyff the best player by a mile. Sad to lose him, but he made an impression on anyone who is 40 or over I would think & anyone younger will have heard the name & seen clips of him. R.I.P. & respect.
